Misc Air Fryers

Neither here nor there.
So Sar had a free ebook for air fryer recipes today http://www.timebomb2000.com/vb/showthread.php?518941-free-e-books-today and I was wondering if anyone here owns one or more of these beasts?

If so what are your thoughts, how often do you use it, how easy is it to clean, so on and so forth. I see there are several brands available and different price points.

Just curious, want to start shopping now will probably purchase one over the christmas holiday season. Quite a few of the Beach Body on Demand peeps I know have them, and then there's the long haul trucker guy in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker Community group that lost 140#'s in the last two years because he quit eating out and equipped his rig with an IP and an AF.

Any how, suggestions, brand recommendations, the best things to cook or the worst things to cook in the unit would be great.

Hi Packy, I just got one off ebay last week and still experimenting. Finding it is very fast at heating up and cooks quickly. Have not tried any large meals yet. I put a pan in the bottom to catch drips etc then only have to wipe the sides of the bowl to clean. I think if you are cooking something that will splatter I would want to cover it to avoid the top element getting dirty, I'm thinking maybe a pyrex bowl with lid. I bought a 5 chef model that has halogen heating and a clear glass bowl so that you can check without opening. Will find a link.

Which brand did you purchase?

I am interested in getting feedback as well; I've been thinking of getting one for a few months now - price over here has been a turn off; that and I just got an Instant recently and that took the cash for that sort of thing for a few months.

But I am getting more and more interested, I love friend food though these days we mostly do oven fried; I gather these units are closer to that than the taste of deep frying but a bit better results than just using the fan oven?

I'm interested in an air fryer, but since I don't make French Fries or chicken wings, or much of any frying, would it be at all useful? They're selling them on QVC, now, but I don't want to jump, unless I know it would find a use. They mentioned cakes, too, but I wouldn't bake a cake in an air fryer.
