CRIME Apple River Stabbing verdict: Guilty on all counts.

I have only been aware of this case in the last few days as it has been in trial and in my youtube feed. Surprised we haven't discussed it here.

Tons of articles, videos of the attack, the trial that just ended, lots of stuff for anyone who wants to see it.

In a nutshell, 3 groups of tubers on a local river, older man almost 60 looking for friends lost cell phone gets heckled then attacked by a group of teens, a third group joins. he stabs 5 of them and 1 dies. The kids were filming the heckling of the old man for social media likes and were calling him a pedo and child r*pist, then attacked him.

AALL of the comments in ALL of the videos agree this was SELF DEFENSE.. but he lied quite a bit to investigators and was proven sso by video... really sh*tty situation, the guy has had heart surgery and is being attacked in a river ... crazy.. I bet it gets overturned but... meanwhile he rots in prison:-/ The guy also moved to the US from Romani as a teen so english is a second language.. which has to add to the internal translating going on in such a nighmarish situation.. those kids attacked. Anything that happened AFTER he defended himself did not nullify he was TERRIFIED, surrounded, and being PHYSICALLY attacked,,

That is INSANE.
The 13 people harassing and attacking a defenseless man are to blame.
The knife used was taken by the victim from the drunk teenaged aggressors, and used in his defense.

I assume that the Romani immigrant vs connected American "kids" legal fight was always destined to be one-sided.
There is no Justice.

The wife testified that Nic, the victim (stabber) told her "a couple of them had knives, and I took one of them away from them."

Video evidence, victim and witness testimony revealed only Nic had a knife, and he had it BEFORE the encounter.

I also watched the video the teens took.
I think that it was self-defense in the face of a mob of teens with bad intent.
The multitude of assaults on Nic prior to the employment of tools for self-defense makes it such.
If he is guilty, so is Kyle Rittenhouse......a person surrounded by bad actors with ill-intent assaulting him that he defends against.
Was the 60-year-old Gypsy immigrant obfuscating in the aftermath of a traumatic event? Perhaps.
He is probably guilty of Obstruction, maybe even Evidence Tampering....... But I don't think he is guilty of Homocide (as it is codified).
It was Self-Defense.

As his lawyer said in closing statments... there is no duty to retreat in that state. Retreat from them on public roperty? Because they are screaming "peadophile" and "Child Rapist" at him... thats the world we want? He should retreat so there's not a "confrontation.?" I would say THEY confronted him. THEY attacked him verbally, physically. Wild you think he should have "walked away." ....so loudmouth bully's and people who THREATEN other people in public places just get to rule the street now... if you stand up to physical assault you "stood somewhere they could assault you after verbose warning the assault may take place." ..fantastic.
They started it, assaulted him and surrounded him.

Take your pick. Keep your hands and slander/fighting words to yourself. The Defending Lawyer did make one verbal error that totally missed hitting home when it should. He said you can't take the incident from the view of the video, the video taker, Jawan, you have to view it as though "Nic was taking the video" .....

Nope, because "The Video" is from the view of the attackers, he should've said, "You have to view the video subjective to Nics angle, facing this crowd, backing up, being pushed into the water.." "Slapped, assaulted, pushed down again,.." Saying it the way he did was a little weakening to a strong point he could havee hammered. But man that Jury got it wrong wrong. Self defense all day, THEY could have walked away, all 15 of them. Yeah, some people will see it diffferent.. and I guess get to backup their physically assaulting of others with actions & consequences. Those kids parents suck. and the prosecutor SHOWED that all the kids LIED on the stand.... f*ckin sorry little demons.

I did kind of a deep dive on YouTube yesterday after reading about this here and I concur with BadMedicine and Arisen. The young men -and others- were out of control. What the hell were all those people doing messing with that man. If you wanted to provoke someone to violence, then that was a classic playbook. He had no idea where that encounter was headed over him just looking around. Those cretans, along with their alcohol/drug levels, were clearly over the edge.

I’ve gone tubbing and snorkeling before down our Ichetucknee Springs run here in Florida both as as a teen and older man. I’ve seen drunk people having fun and some shady looking hillbillys as well, but no one has ever acted like that group of lunatics and women across the creek. There were no children there and for all those people to get involved was ridiculous. What’s next, screaming across the creek that they found a witch come and see? I agree that the situation didn't need to happen but damn, I’d been hard pressed to vote guilty after seeing the video and listening to the answers from those overgrown knuckleheads……
