Has No Life - Lives on TB
Okay, I've used arnica for several years now to handle sprains, muscle pain and back pain. I use either the tablets or the cream depending on the situation.
One thing I have not used it for is headaches. And for the last 9 months or so I've been fighting some doozies of headaches. Ones that would put most people in the ER begging for pain meds. (I have a obscenely high pain tolerance.) Well in the past week they've been beating everything that I could throw at them, both medicinally, herbally, and environmentally. And then I got a sinus infection. By the time I left the docs today I was in deep doo doo and seeing sparklies. After 45 minutes of ice on my neck, wrists and temples I was able to function and think again. But it was just enough to get me through the drug store and home with meds for the sinus infection. (No pain meds. I didn't ask.)
Doc doesn't want to address the headaches until the sinus infection is gone. Understood and accepted. I don't like using prescription pain killers and prefer to find the cause and deal with that. But I was wiped and barely functional by the time I got home which is not an option in my life. So in a moment of sheer desperate brainstorming, I grabbed the arnica cream and put it on my temples. I was almost dizzy from the level of immediate relief. So I also did my neck and up around my ears. Basically anywhere the headache would make sore that didn't have hair growing.
I was and am amazed at the relief level. It's been almost 2 hours and I'm still doing good. I'm past functional into I can think, plan, execute. Although not at full brain fog gone level.
Just thought I would share. If you decide to try this, do so at your own risk. And make sure you're sitting down for those first few minutes.
