A San Gabriel Valley man was arrested after federal officers found more than 60 firearms in his home.
Authorities searched the home of 34-year-old Gabriel Baez Jr. after someone made a complaint that he was in possession of illegal weapons.
Homeland Security Investigators arrested Baez Friday.

When officers searched his home, they seized more than 60 firearms, including 10 short-barreled rifles; suspected firearm silencers; suspected auto sears and Glock switches; over 110 high-capacity rifle and pistol magazines; and evidence of firearms manufacturing, such as lower and upper receivers for AR-style firearms and jigs for finishing firearms receivers.
He has been charged with possession of unregistered firearms. Baez made his first appearance in court Friday.
If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

If he is an illegal alien that he can easily be charged as he is not not a U.S. citizen and is not entitled to own or have weapons.
Now a U.S. citizen is allowed to build and owned firearms with no numbers to register they cannot sell them to someone else.

day late

money? whats that?
I'm wondering, who were the final users of these things going to be? If it was just him, well, that's odd but shouldn't be illegal. Does he have ties to gangs or organized crime? That is a different subject.

I thought the courts just ruled that illegals have the "right" to own firearms?

Closer than not.

US citizens are on record as having waived rights for privileges, and are not privy to the Bill of Rights. Trenton v New Jersey makes this clear, as well as asserting that the 14th Amendment privileges do not include unlimited firearm possession or use.

This should explain the enthusiasm with which “illegals” are encouraged to obtain “citizenship” (read shackles).

They had to have more than just someone filling a complaint. A confidential informant has to have seen the contraban in person, in the 72 hours before, and had proven knowledge of what the items were. They can give a tip to the cops, but then they need to develop more substantial evidence to get a warrant. Like a delivery of Glock Switches from the airport maybe.

If he is illegal the ATF will load him up with better toys and send him home.

Looks like this clown was getting ready for a war. Possibly gang related?!?! OR......something worse? CWII?
Nope. Would be a typical Appalachian basement. Except smart people don't buy sbr's or suppressors without a tax stamp.
He probably bought from one of the goobermint websites.

No tax stamps and shorter barrels...... Neither are more lethal. People overlook how stupid our laws have become.

“someone made a complaint” could likely be an undercover agent who’ll never be named.

I think good job if I’m right

When contraband is discovered in the mail, like drugs or "Glock switches", an anticipatory search warrants can be obtained. The box is rigged with a transmitter that notifies law enforcement upon opening of the box. The box is delivered as addressed. A certain amount of time is allowed to pass to give the recipient time to call the cops in the case of drugs or for them to break down the bulk shipment and bag up the drugs for sale. When the warrant is served, if the recipient was installing the switches in Glocks ( making machine guns) or bagging up the drugs, he is screwed. If whatever was in the box is unused/not processed or tossed into the trash can, he may be ok.

I have been retired from LEO work for 10 years so the above may be dated

Unless there is a truly damaged party involved……there is no crime committed and all of the above is a clear violation of the Second.

Until all self described enthusiastic American gun owners have each other’s backs…..expect the encroachment to continue at an ever increasing pace.

Another reason to stay away from Cali.

60 guns???? Really? He's not taking over the world with 60 guns. Note the ammo? Or lack there of? Looks like there's maybe enough for some range days with friends, hunting season and to take care of any unwanted vermin on a homestead. Meh. Unless there's something I'm not seeing?

Also not seeing "short barreled rifles". Are they talking carbines? Didn't the SC overturn gun registration? With all the .gov agencies involved...? Thinking something else is going on that's not being reported. Surprise? Not. Then again it is Cali.
