Tools Babylock Imagine

I managed to snag a Babylock Imagine serger for 300 bucks locally. Lady use to do drapes and does wedding dresses, etc. Her husband purchased her a Juki a couple years ago while she was out of town, and wanted her to sell the Babylock. She was about in tears. She indicated that one of the air threaders wasn't working. It was packed with stuff. Cleaned around the tube, and puff puff and loopers threaded by themselves. Had the 6 additional feet that could be purchased in a pack. I have identified what 5 of the 6 are.

Hubby took the cover off and gave it a good clean, and polished the plastic. Almost as good as new, and for 300 bucks... Now to find a good home for the speedylock.

If you are looking to upgrade some of your essential tools, the deals for gently used machines are starting to be found. This particular machine is a WORK HORSE, and I know this one was used a ton, but I know it has many many years left.

Nice! I'd love an auto threading serger, but after years of fighting with mine, I finally sorted out the precise sequence needed for it to work. For a long time, I mostly used either a light or dark neutral color thread, so I didn't have to retired the darned thing!

I hate rethreading. But fortunately mine has a really nice pretty diagram to help me when I have to.

Ooh... the loopers go back and forth to create the edge stitch that say you see on the inside of your clothing. They just are two fingers that carry the bottom threads. This particular machine has an air tube port that closes, and when you pump the little lever with your finger, it pushes the thread and completely threads that portion of the machine. Usually more tricky and harder to thread due to smallness of the area.
