Bleach for water

I am looking for help please. I recently bought a couple of those heavy duty blue water jugs that are three gallon in size...Does anyone know how much bleach I need to put in the jugs for storage? I'm thinking in terms of teaspoon or tablespoon amounts. I thought I'd steam distill the water before putting in the jugs and away for storage. I also can without bleach water in quart jars using used jar lids so if it doesn't seal I haven't lost anything but have had good luck in that direction so far anyway.
