Engine Broken sparkplug

This one just had a happy ending.

Our 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan started running rough last week and the check engine light came on. Misfire in cylinder 2. Probably jumped the gun but decided to change spark plugs and wires, they were original.

First one came out no problem, the side electrode was about gone. Went for the second one, broke off at the threads, porcelain came out, argh.

Did some research and it sounded like the straight extractors were better than the fluted ones. Ordered these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DNRJ7A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I kept hitting the plug with PB Blaster every day. The extractors came on Tuesday. No joy, put a lot of torque on it but quit before I thought it was going to break. Then I remember I had some Kroil.

Made it back out today and it came right out. Changed out the rest of the plugs and wires. Fired it up, runs smooth, no codes so far.

Kroil is good stuff. It is actually leaking out of the seams of the can that it came in, I had to set it in a plastic tray.

I keep the commercial stuff around for convenience but I have mixed batch of Red's around for the really tough jobs - plenty of testing around that shows it blows the store stuff away ....
