Can Trump really get booted from office?

Well, the Dems have the numbers to definitely vote to Impeach. I suspect the Senate strategy is to have a trial, then vote - fully expecting the vote to fail. At which point - the Dems will have to try to cobble together something for 2020, to run on besides "vote Trump out".

No. IF the House votes to impeach, he goes to a sham trial in the Senate, then the Senate votes.
The Republican controlled Senate won't vote to convict/remove him.

Clinton became only the second American president to be impeached (the other being Andrew Johnson who was impeached in 1868)[a] on December 19, 1998, when the House formally adopted the articles of impeachment and forwarded them to the United States Senate for adjudication. The trial in the Senate began in January 1999, with Chief Justice William Rehnquist presiding. On February 12, Clinton was acquitted of the charges against him, when the Senate failed to convict him on either of them by the necessary two-thirds majority vote.
The House brings forth the Articles of Impeachment. The House basically presents the evidence of a crime against the President, much like a prosecutor in a trial. The Senate acts as the jury and passes judgement.

Meaning that even though the House presses for conviction for whatever reason, if the Senate doesn't find the President guilty by a MINIMUM two-thirds vote....he'll be acquitted and nothing will happen. So unless a bunch of Senate Republicrats cross the isle and vote against Trump, the house's issues are all for nothing, other than giving Trump a black eye, he'll still be president.

Demon-O-Craps are basically monkeys' in the zoo tossing poop at the President.....and the American people.

They have the votes - and even the answer to query. But do they have the "political will?"

Going back home to an electorate sick to death of all this is daunting. Not every Rep is AOC with the delusion rampant in the streets at home. And given the current Trump-Biden flap is SO weak in its foundation, and full of pit-falls for the Democrats over in the Senate when discussion widens to other Democratic bad actors, its unlikely to pass a full House vote - despite what they keep saying.

One has to remember what they say is not what they do.

I mean it was LAST THURSDAY when Pelosi said a vote was "imminent."

Thursday to Monday is an eternity in the news cycle.

And it's a pretty safe bet they'll take the opportunity to drag Joe Biden and his swamp monster son over a thousand miles of broken glass in the process.

I do wish if they (The Democrats) are going to Impeach in the House - I HOPE THEY DO IT SOON.

If Trump were to be impeached by the senate and removed from office, could he continue running and be elected president again?

Democrats are scared. Expect them to act collect and predictable. But even they know they have nothing to impeach him on

Impeached for what? No-one has answered that question.

Impeachment means they want to get rid of him by non-democratic means.

So evidently you have NFC how impeachment works, even though we’ve discussed it 500 times.

Got it.

Impeached for asking the Ukraine to give up dirt on Biden. That's the charge. Whether it's legitimate or not is irrelevant at this point.

It's almost a certainty that it's going to a vote in the House. They've changed the rules to bring it forward and they have enough Democrats to do it. He will be impeached in the House, the same as Clinton was.

It will then go to the Senate where they need about 60 Republicans to cross the aisle and vote for his removal. It's EXTREMELY unlikely to happen. Of course we said Obamacare would never pass the Senate either but a lot of Republicans screwed us on that one too.

You really think the Republicans will "bring out the REAL information and put the REAL criminal on trial" ?????
Because I don't think the Repugnants will do a blankity blank blank thing to help our side!!!!

P.S. (my anger in my recent posts are aimed at the R's and NOT you or other posters)

The short answer is no. The answer among conservatives inside the beltway is "Hahahahahaha, HELL no."
Ain't. Going. To. Happen. No evidence, no evidence, no evidence.

What you're seeing is Uncle Joe Biden's presidential race (he's how old? Ok, geriatric mall walk......) explode into a million pieces. I've signed into his campaign so I can keep up with what the enemy is doing. In the past 4 days I've gotten 7 emails from his campaign, one talking about Orange man bad and the rest begging pleading and groveling for money.

Nancy Pelosi will have to end up resigning after this mess is over. Adam Schiff, if he doesn't get Clinton'ed shortly after this is over, will not run for reelection (he's already a laughingstock around the beltway. "Bug Eyes" is his nickname.) . The Dems are going to end up with EPIC losses in the 2020 election. Mark my words.

No, he can't be impeached. But he makes a good actor for the Democrat kabuki theater this "impeachment inquiry" is.

Precisely! The House can hold it's dog and pony show but the Senate requires a trial where evidence both for and against is publicly displayed for all to see. The left hasn't thought this out and it's going to play right into Trump's hand if it even gets that far. If it goes to trial before the Senate all the dirty laundry is going to come out. And the media would have a hard time trying to spin that as all would see it instead of like Adam Schitt did when he read a fake synopsis of Trump's call that bore no resemblance to the transcript of the call. The left has no candidate that can win against Trump so they have to try their impeachment wet dream which is going to backfire on them like everything else that has been tried.

We should not act as IF he can't be impeached. He certainly can. Is it a longshot? Most definitely. Extremely unlikely.

If he is removed from office, Pence has to be confirmed by both the House and the Senate, and the House will not confirm him.

We will be in a state where, in years the Democrats win an election, their candidate governs and moves their agenda forward ... and in years where Republicans win they'll tie up and tangle the government apparatus in such as fashion as to have non-governance.

Rolling back Obamacare was a big thing. Always before the Democrats put laws on the books and the Republicans then let them stand the next time they took power. This time, rolling back Democratic initiatives ... the Democrats have decided to just go scorched earth everytime a Republican is in power to prevent that from ever happening again.

It's really not about Donald Trump ... it's about protecting the Democrat agenda.

Do you mean for Pence to take office as President? I don't think that is the case, I think all that has to happen is for Pence to be sworn in as President.

I think their goal was to paralyze Trump. Can you imagine a foreign entity that would talk to Trump on the phone now? I think not. That gutshoots one important tool to conduct foreign policy.

And as I have ranted many times, Trump can be played. And I think they are playing him. Think of the time and energy he has already spent on this when there actually is no action as yet. Wait until the witnesses start testifying and Trump goes ballistic on Twitter because they have so slanted their testimony that it ends up being pretty far from the truth. .

Correct - And possibly to prevent another Supreme Court nomination; If RBG goes down while Trump is under articles of impeachment I doubt McConnell will have the nerve to bring a Trump appointee to a vote.

Should the House Domocraps be stupid enough to Impeach a sitting President with near 60% approval rating it will then go to the Senate for Trial and Vote in which Chief Justice Roberts will preside. The Supreme Court Justice presided in Clinton's Impeachment Trial. It requires 66 yes votes to convict on the charges. If convicted the punishment can be anything from don't do that again to removal of office. That is what the squirrel bait in the House is brewing and sending to the Senate should this go that far.

Think LBJ after the Kennedy assassination. He was sworn in on the airplane before they took off back for DC.

However, a REPLACEMENT VP must be approved by both houses of Congress.

Ah, thanks.

So with that being the case ... this looks like they want to shut down the Republicans to the point of paralysis and wait it out until the next election they win.

I expect impeachment to happen in the House, it will be another party line vote. Once it gets in the Senate I don't expect conviction and removal from office, but I do not see it as a guaranteed thing. The Rhinos have been fighting trump since he took office and I have no doubt they would be willing to lose the Presidency if they could sack Trump. The interesting speculation will be if Trump is removed will that be a "Crossing the Rubicon" event that turns the cold civil war hot? In many ways I see Trump as a last ditch effort of faith in the ballot box, once that's done there is only one other box left and it has a lot of hurt in it. As usual, this is all speculation. I've been wrong before.

If the House votes to impeach and it goes to the Senate, then all Senators will be able to have their say - and they have lots to say.

They can ask anyone anything, as it is a trial and they can subpoena, and call for AG to charge felons.

It the Reps have their way, there will be several felons in the Dem side.

And it will be the only way the public can hear the truth, and the media won't be able to shut it down or not cover it.

there are a number of weak Republicans who may just vote to dump him!
There are some Democrat Senators who won't vote along party lines......there are real patriots who won't destroy their country.
