Hey folks.

Just got back from the dealership an hour ago. I took out the new 2005 Chrysler 300C for a couple hours. WOW.

Does anyone here have one, or know someone that has one? Anyone looking at one?

It drives nice, lots of cool digital toys. Really quiet, tonnes of room. HUGE amount of power. I took out the 5.7 Ltr HEMI model.

And yes, I know its not the most fuel efficent car, but I will only live once. Its actually only a couple MPG worse then the car I have now.

I don't really like the styling, but I'm sure it's nice inside. I'm kinda surprised they didn't use this RWD chassis to reintroduce the Imperial name, and keep the 300 FWD.

Do y'all have the GTO and Mercury Marauder up there?

I think it's the grille that makes it look odd to me-a bit large, or no bumpers. Saw something about a convertible. They do that, and they'll steal sales from everybody!

I will say this. That is one BEAUTIFUL CAR!!

It's about time someone built a car that looks like an american car...it's fantastic, really.

Perfect blend of modern bentley, and early 60's lincoln continental..
My only reservation is get a better set of wheels for it. The chrome doesn't do anything for it.

I had to take a closer look, front roominess seems way out of proportion to the size of the car, maybe they used all the space for sound proofing?
Stupid stupid styling of the rear doors, you hit yourself getting in.
Weird "chopped" look for the windshield and windows all around, to me again disproportionate to the body of the car.
Weird trunk styling too, looks like they left off a piece where the trunk lid and bumper meet. Yeah and that front grille looks weird.

Just my opinion of course, but you did ask.......

I think the previous style looked better myself.

One thing that really stood out from the test drive was how HIGH the doors are, and how short the windows are. You feel like your in a cockpit of a 747.

But it is a very quiet and comfortable ride, that is for sure.

FWIW, the 300C uses a Mercedes 5-speed automatic transmission.

According to rumors, an AWD version of the 300C, based upon the Mercedes AWD system, will debute Dec 2004, or thereabouts.

It will be interesting to see what sort of blowers/turbo kits the aftermarkets folks cook up -- underhood room is tight.

Also, check out the Dodge Magnum wagon -- same platform as 300C, available with the hemi engine.
