Curious what information members have regarding Lyme disease and treatment? I have been fighting Lyme aggressively with antibiotics for the last 20 months or so and beginning to finally see some progress. Would like to find out what has worked for others to finish clearing up this terrible disease. TIA

This is an older thread but I'm answering since I had/have Lyme too. I read stevia shows good potential in testing so far. Yes the stevia that is a sweetener! I was in the stage of Lyme where the disease has colonized all through the body. I was developing bullseye splotches all over. I'm willing to try any of the nontoxic ideas I see.

There is an electronic device made to kill blood pathogens associated with malaria and Lyme. Read about it here:http://www.rayjardine.com/Blood_Cleaner/index.htm

Quote:In 2009 I contracted Lyme Disease while hiking the Appalachian Trail. Even after the usual six-weeks course of antibiotics, the disease had taken root in the body and was not letting go. The doctors forbade any more antibiotics, and chronic fatigue began to set in. I had not used the Blood Cleaner for a few years, so I began using it daily. The Blood Cleaner ate my chronic fatigue syndrome for lunch, and ten days later I started hiking and even running.

Today I have more energy than ever, and because the Blood Cleaner worked so well for me, I have, in turn, worked hard on the device, making it even more powerful, miniaturizing the circuitry, and making it available to other people in need.

I read an article about Stevia, the sweetner, about 2 weeks ago, that either kills the lymes bacteria or makes it susceptible to your bodies immune system. Do a google search and see what you find.

Suggestions

Dr Richard Horowitz is a leading Lyme MD he has a new book out called "How Can I Get Better?: An Action Plan for Treating Resistant Lyme & Chronic Disease" it is full of information on how to treat Lyme. Excellent book!
The CDC guideline on Lyme are BS! Also if you are interested in the real story on Lyme watch the PBS documentary "Under our Skin"
Lyme is a complicated illness and these two resources will help you understand it better. Good luck, I have been fighting it for over 16 months now. Its a very looooong up hill battle.

I used natural antibiotics for three years, and am more or less better. It caused damage throughout my body that I am still dealing with - leaky gut, thyroid, brain fog, pain. There is controversy as to whether those are still being directly caused by Lyme or the damage from Lyme. Autoimmune disease caused by the leaky gut would also explain it. I no longer have any herx reaction from any of the natural antibiotics, no matter how much I take, so I'm leaning toward damage. Interestingly, stevia is part of my normal diet.

Natural antibiotics included cat's claw, Japanese knotwood, teasel (has to be the right species) and a few others. I alternated them.

I know I had Lyme disease and for a couple of years when I met a herbalist that swore by Teasel tincture that cured her Lyme disease. So I bought a bottle and took it for quite sometime till the cessation of lyme disease symptoms. Been clear for several years now. (I would take a small dropperful twice a day) but should you go to try this? Check with someone for proper dosage and such. It has been 7+ years since I finished with the tincture.

I watched a video on YouTube by “Rain Country”. She uses Nasturtium leaves to make an antibiotic tincture. I have had Lyme multiple time...like 10. I have been feeling like I have it the last few weeks. One of the first symptoms I get is excessive sweating, even when it isn’t hot. I have been miserable because of it. Two days ago I remembered the nasturtium video, and I ate a couple leaves whenever I went out on the deck where the plants are. I got up this morning full of energy for the first time in ages, and the sweats are almost gone! I have been out picking peppers and canning them, with only a minimal amount of sweating. I have leaves in the dehydrator so I can make a tincture.

Do a search for ivermectin and Lyme disease--- and you will find some good info. I was surprised to learn that it was used for much more than just as a "wormer medicine".

I am a land surveyor in maine. I believe when the state introduced wild turkeys here in 1984 from out of state they also introduced ticks, presumably unintentionally...
never saw a tick before in my life here in Maine until 1985, my first year of full time surveying. Got my first and only bulls eye rash (indicating Lyme) from the tick bite, went to my doc, who wasn’t convinced until I told him I knew what I was talking about and ordered him to just give me the antibiotic and I was out of there.

been bit multiple times every year since then. (36 years.). Only took anti-biotics twice. Perhaps the anti bodies from the first time saved me?

anyways, I read the book “Healing Lyme“ by doctor Stephen Buhner. Herbals and homeopathics only, and the various protocols recommended are based on your symptoms. He doesn’t Really recommend the testing labs. Too unlikely because of the tiny window to get the test done depending on the life stage of the bacteria or virus. i read the book about 8 years ago and have been taking nearly all of the herbal supplements and vitamins every day since. No problems ever since I began in spite of multiple tick bites every year. I don’t take the andrographis or sweet wormwood supplements unless I actually get bit, otherwise I take everything daily year round. I haven’t used the homeopathics, but if I was having problems, I would certainly give them a try.

Until this last bite in late summer. Didn’t realize I had a couple ticks on me at that time, and I was coming down with chills and the front muscles of my upper legs began to ache continuously. I took ibuprophin for the aches but only gave relief for 4 hours or so. Discovered the ticks on me in the middle of the nite and removed them, to no avail. A friend recommended smearing oregano oil on the soles of my feet before bed. I did so. The next morning all the chills and aches disappeared.

The only tick-borne disease that I could find that was reputed to cause muscle aches was Rocky Mtn spotted fever, which apparently I had never confronted before, but maine does get numerous tourists here who no doubt journey all over the continent, bringing tiny critters with them. While using the protocols from the book I set myself up with a nearly perfect immune system. Rolled over whatever that chinaflu was like it was only a severe headache.
get the book and take all the herbs.

ps: my chronic fatigue turned out to be gluten intolerance. Switched from organic wheat to ancient wheat (Einkorn wheat) and I immediately lost the chronic fatigue.

That sure is an interesting site but there is nothing there about a device for blood cleansing. Do you have any more information about it?

Ray Jardine requests that people not copy and paste things from his website so here is a link to testimony about the device. My Experience with Lyme Disease and The Ray-Way Blood Cleaner

I believe Ray still produces the blood cleaner device which can also be used for making colloidal silver liquid but you will need to contact them by email.

About Lyme; a relative found that avoiding all refined sugar in his diet helped and when the joint inflammation reoccurred the best treatment was fasting.
