19 more days until the days start getting longer again.

So I cheated this year instead of knitting wool fingerless gloves with the mitten piece that makes them into mittens I bought a lovely pair at the farm store!

How's about that for a run on sentence? :lkick: Whatcha all making for the holidays this year?

I finished the two messenger/computer bags for my daughter and grand daughter that match the other bags I did. I am now working on a quilt. (My son and daughter also have birthdays at Christmas/NY time.)

That's a lot of work, what size quilts will you be making? I'm hoping to get a leather shop apron made for OC for christmas, just need to figure out how much leather I'll need first.

I am resurrecting the old patterns, making a few modifications, and beading them in 15/0s; not the 11/0s they used to be- as leather backed hard cuffs, channel cuffs and earrings, clasp bracelets, barrettes, and hatbands. Which is why I haven't posted much lately. Basically re-designing an entire jewelry line.

Once I find what works, I will be in the market for Sterling Silver channel cuffs, barrette bases, and earring bases. Some people have silver coins as a hedge against disaster; I prefer wearable art.

I have one more shawl to finish this weekend and get the Yule gifts in the mail. I will be glad not to have those time constrained projects nipping at my heels and get back to normal. Have a great week everyone.

I'd love to see your beadwork!

The differences in the old and new will be striking. As I work, I'll post the finished pieces.

One is a panel with side vignettes. (I am all about the quilting on that one.) It will be a throw/twin size. The other one is going to have to wait until next year. It is an applique corgi and I want to get it right. Too many children's activities right now to give it the focus it needs.

So neat to hear what everyone is working on!! Hope you can get your projects done before the big day!

My daughter asked for hats and mittens for my granddaughter, "just like you made for me as a kid" I love that she has such good memories of those items that she wants her daughter to have that too. Now to find my patterns!!!

I'm making a new winter hat for myself. My chore wool hat finally gave up. Hubby asked for a new winter hat also. Plus i'm spinning a lamb fleece to make myself a sweater.

Got my breeding season going. The rams went in last weekend, and per the marking, should have my first lambs on the ground on or around May 2nd!

Blessed Be!

What an awful lot of work, but what an awful lot of secret smiles and satisfied accomplishment. I'm impressed.

Pic of the two computer bags that match the travel bags I made in the early fall for my daughter and grand daughter. Quilt in back is pieced and basted. (That is the backing. It is a very colorful New Mexico/Western type pattern.) Working on the ruler work and free motion quilting for the quilt now. It will be for the new tv room in the addition on my daughter's house.

Thank you. I had to give up on the New Mexico style quilt for now. I have until the 3rd to finish it for a birthday.

What gorgeous work, y'all!!!

I crocheted several scarves, an earwarmer and coaster sets for Christmas gifts this year. If i can work them in in between orders, i want to crochet slippers for everyone next year (or at least our kids). My mother used to do that for all of us and everyone loved them. I'd really like to resurrect that tradition. Plus, it would help me use up some of my yarn stash.
