WoT DHS Approves $100K Grant Of Taxpayers’ Money To CAIR

On and On, South of Heaven
In October, the Trump administration handed out $100,000 of taxpayer dollars to the terror-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Middle East Forum has found.

In 2009, the FBI blacklisted CAIR after federal prosecutors named the Islamist group as an unindicted co-conspirator during the 2008 Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing trial. In 2014, the United Arab Emirates designated CAIR as a terrorist organization. And today, its officials continue to promote and excuse violently anti-American and anti-Semitic rhetoric.

To fund CAIR, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) first awarded monies to the Washington, D.C. government, which then selected CAIR and a number of other extremist organizations as suitable sub-recipients. The federal government would likely have been aware, however, that CAIR was a grantee — according to government documentation, it seems sub-grantees must be approved by DHS before funds are distributed.
https://www.dailywire.com/news/link
The administration’s funding of CAIR was the product of the DHS’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program. As my colleague David Swindle recently wrote in The Daily Wire, Congress’ current proposed expansion of the program’s budget, however “well-meaning,” carries enormous “potential for abuse” and will end up providing “millions of taxpayer dollars” to “pro-jihadist Islamist groups.”

This program and others seem to be doing just that. Additional new federal grants of taxpayers’ money handed out to Islamist organizations include over $57,000 to the Muslim American Society (MAS), a national Islamist organization whose Philadelphia branch hosted an event last year at which young children from an MAS-run school recited poetry about the killing of Jews; and $100,000 to Dar al-Hijrah, a hardline Virginia mosque once home to former al-Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki, and long considered a key terror hub by law enforcement agencies.

The Middle East Forum has written before about the enormous amount of taxpayers’ money being handed out to dangerous Islamist organizations. In 2019, we discovered that over $41 million of federal grants has been given to radical groups since 2007. This total does not include the dozens of more recent awards made in the last few months.

Surprisingly, under the Trump administration, grants to extremist organizations have actually increased. As we noted last year, “between 2017 and 2018, the amount of taxpayers’ money given to organizations either influenced or controlled by Islamist activists more than tripled from $4 million to $13.5 million. Under the Obama administration, the amount given to Islamist-linked organizations averaged a mere $1.7 million each year.”

In August 2019, the U.S. Census Bureau quickly cancelled a proposed partnership with CAIR after a number of conservative media outlets started investigating the decision. But why this was not enough to stop the federal government from subsequently funding the very group it had previously conceded was beyond the pale?

Over the last few months, some supporters of the administration have reacted to our research into public subsidy and political support for these theocratic groups by acknowledging the problem but arguing that, in many instances, the federal government’s embrace of Islamists and its failure to work instead with moderate Muslims is an enduring legacy of extant Obama administration policies.

Given the longstanding programs behind many of these grants, this may well be true. If only there were someone to drain the swamp.

If this is true maybe Trump really is a batting for the other side?

Ok, I'll tell you why. Because we as a people are so productive, they have to steal our money to keep us down..and that is the goal. Keep the people down and under control. Sad reality, but truthful. Time to right this ship the state wants to sink.....dump the free money...our money, let us keep our money. In the mean time, lets start to tax politicians at a very high rate, being the public servants they claim to be, serve us......suckers.

Islamic civil rights leader to speak at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. interfaith service
Hassan Shibly, CEO of the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Florida, says the U.S. must learn from its past.

Hassan Shibly, CEO of the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Florida, recalls what happened when he met for coffee with a group of Muslim businessmen in Tampa for the Republican National Convention in 2012.

Someone in the McDonald’s restaurant overheard them speaking Arabic and called police, who showed up at Shibly’s home and his CAIR office.

But times have changed since, he said. Shibly, 33, who leads Florida CAIR’s efforts to help non-Muslims understand Islam and promote civil discourse, said the organization trained nearly 5,000 law enforcement officers in the Tampa Bay area last year.

Sunday, Shibly will be the keynote speaker at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg. This year’s theme is, “Vision for Humanity in 2020.”

Event in Georgia Reveals CAIR is as Pro-Hamas as Ever

On Saturday, February 24, 2018 — nearly 24 years after the founding of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) by activists associated with Hamas — CAIR-Georgia will host its second annual fundraising banquet. A seemingly benign American non-profit organization, CAIR-GA’s event theme is ‘Living Our Faith, Defending Your Freedom.’ It’s a catchy slogan, evoking an image of American liberty and justice. Yet, the banquet’s theme has little to do with reality. In truth, not much about CAIR has changed since it was founded; it continues to espouse radical ideologies and nurture the Islamist anti-Israel obsession.

One of the headline speakers is the Executive Director of CAIR-Florida, Hassan Shibly, who has a lengthy record of bigoted rhetoric and extremist behavior. In August 2014, he tweeted that “Israel and its supporters are enemies of God and humanity.” Yet, his November 2006 interview with his university’s newspaper revealed Shibly’s clear disregard for “humanity” — as long as those humans are Israeli. Questioned about Hezbollah, Shibly told the paper that the violent, Iran-supported group was “absolutely not a terrorist organization.” Shibly also denied that Hezbollah sought to murder Israeli civilians, despite multiple Human Rights Watch reports to the contrary.

Shibly’s extremist sentiment is not exactly surprising. It was under Shibly’s leadership that CAIR-Florida co-sponsored a July 2014 pro-Hamas rally outside the Miami branch of the Israeli consulate, where attendees repeatedly screamed, “We are Hamas,” “Let’s go Hamas,” and “Hamas kicked your ass.” Following the rally, the event organizer, Sofian Zakkout, wrote in Arabic, “Thank God, every day, we conquer the American Jews like our conquests over the Jews of Israel!”

Even more disturbing, if possible, was Shibly’s April 2017 Facebook post, in which he promoted a video lauding convicted Palestinian terrorist Marwan Barghouti as a “hero.”

Shibly’s ire isn’t only directed at Jews or Israelis, however. He’s also shown considerable hostility to his fellow Muslims! In November 2017, Shibly endorsed Khatme Nubuwwat (KN), an international network dedicated to inciting violence and hatred against Ahmadiyya Muslims, a peaceful Muslim sect that has suffered persecution at the hands of Islamists.

Shibly seems not to care that KN has also used threatening language against the United States, labeling America “the land of infidels.” Apparently, his concern for “humanity” is narrower than CAIR would like us to know.

Given the other speakers’ (including activist Linda Sarsour and CAIR-Georgia Executive Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell) purported concern for human rights, it’s a wonder they don’t protest at being featured alongside such a purveyor of hateful agitprop.

Perhaps Sarsour and Mitchell are happy to speak alongside Shibly because their views, in fact, align with Shibly’s illiberal ideas.

So… THAT’S the guy that is training Tampa police to “understand Islam and promote civil discourse”???

It took me less than one minute to find this out about him... Which just means one of two things.

1. No one else in the law enforcement community bothered to run his name

2. Someone did run his name but they don't care that A terrorist supporting Muslim Brotherhood member is teaching the community all about Islam.

What we need is a mainstream media source/broadcast to at least weekly if not almost daily make an issue of this and related subjects. Does anyone here actually believe that ANY sitting President has a clue as to where all the little funding payments go, the ones like this and others we take issue with?

Just imagine for a minute if say Fox News (just to use someone we are all familiar with) ran a 1- hour weekly expose/update of things like this. Just imagine the sky screaming that would go on about being racist/too white/uncaring, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Not to mention the politicos at lower levels that would be scrambling to make excuses, etc.

I sincerely doubt that DJT is ware of this, much less authorized it. But we know he watches Fox at least. Can one imagine a memo going out to have this looked into post-haste, and to find out who signed off on it?

Maybe we all should use this info to send in Letters to the Editor of every newspaper in the country, call in to talk shows, post on line. Also, suppose we all send this to Pres Trump, our congresscritters. Then they can not say they did not know. Then we would see if the big talk is real, or just more BS !!!

Evidently not. I was hoping things like this would stop with President Trump's election. Turning the ship of state may be too big a task for one man.

Yes, there are so many tentacles, so deeply embedded. They have been working behind our backs for decades. PDJT cannot address everything. I wish he could, we all do.

Letters to the editor are routinely ignored, but America loves TV media. It is posted on-line, which is why we are discussing it. Radio is also a decent access point, but until it is in your face widely available to Joe Sixpack the elites will just ignore it.

Declare the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization like he said he was going to do...

CAIR ( Council on American Islamic Relations )
ISNA ( Islamic Society of North America )
ICNA ( Islamic Circle of North America )
MSA ( Muslim Student's Association )
NAIT ( North American Islamic Trust )
IIIT ( International Institute for Islamic Thought )
Funding for politicians and many mosques across America
Anyone supporting, trading, or dealing with Hamas ( Which admits, by their own charter, that they are just the Palestinian extension of the Muslim Brotherhood )

It would all stop overnight...

He can address this issue in a few minutes but he has been delaying for years.

On top of that we don't have the money to give as it's all borrowed and becomes part of the ever increasing national debt. I'm not so sure we can blame Trump for this as most of this was put in place before we elected him to office and the corrupt system is also setup to fight any change.
