I could not agree more !!!!!

I am SOOOO sick of hearing all the politicians, most of them lawyers, even supposedly "conservative" ones calling us a democracy !!!! I think it started with the idiot shrub. I was always screaming at the TV. Even today, all of the GOP calling us a democracy constantly !! It makes me sooo sick. They are all idiots, and hucksters !!!

Actually, depending upon what government level we’re talking about, we’re a direct democracy. Let’s say a state legislature passed some egregious bill. That could be referred directly to the voters by referendum. A special election would be held on just that issue. The will of the people overrides the legislature

In reference to the Federal Government, the Federal Government is a Republic. It is in the US Constitution. Nowhere in that document does it say we are a democracy. It may operate like that at times, but by the letter of the law, it is not.

Really? No income tax? Because I read this to mean that Congress will print the money needed to support the gov. And no interest to be paid on that either. Wonders will never cease.
