How a Bubba calls the Police

Bubba was going up to bed when his wife told him t! hat he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.

Bubba opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said no.
Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

Bubba said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all."

Then he hung up. Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at Bubba's residence.
Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to Bubba : "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

Bubba said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Clever indeed!

This reminds me of true life story that happened to me long time ago back before I was smart enough to be armed 24/7

In the essence of time, long story short:

House was burglarized and robbed some 4x in under 3 yrs. and all during broad daylight.
Since I was always the first one to arrive home from work each day, I was the lucky one to happen upon the knowledge of what had occured.

The last time it happened (and on a hot 110 degree indian summer day) the police were even slower in coming than usual. I was told to wait outside since the burglars might still be inside. I waited and waited...called again, told 'on way'. Meanwhile police dispatch wanted my full description of height, weight, hair/eye color even the clothes I was wearing said in case of kidnap. Nice, huh?!

I replied if you're so damned worried about a kidnap or hostage situation, why aren't you sending someone out here N-O-W! Told it was shift change and that was slowing things up. I replied if you'd sent someone out HOURS ago when I first called, it wouldn't have run into 'shift change' and hence the slowness.

Another broiling hour went by and I said to hell with this. Called the police back and said, "You don't have to worry about sending anyone out. I called a friend of mine and he's on his way with his guns. I promptly hung up at that point.

Within nanno seconds, I swear!, not one but THREE patrol cars came screaming down the street seemingly out of nowhere and came to a screeching halt outside my house parked at odd angles and each containing 2 cops with guns drawn.

Of course, no one was found to be in the house since it was now some 5 hrs. after my initial call (let alone how long it was from the break in & robbery itself).

Ironically, the police station is only 3 blocks from my house but the donut shop is much further away so therefore my time delay dilema

I finally saved up enough money to install a house alarm after that plus as I said, started being armed 24/7.

The end!
