I have a request for Thanksgiving dinner for pecan pie. I used to have a delicious recipe but I guess I have lost it because it's no where to be found now. Anyone have a recipe they would care to share that is no fail and delicious?

I use the one on the back of the Karo syrup bottle but use Griffin’s waffle syrup instead of karo. It is really the best.

Adding a half teaspoon of salt to whatever recipe you use will boost the buttery taste of your filling, use half karo and half good quality pancake syrup and if your oven cooks on the hot side, turn it down a smidge or your pecans will be tough.

If you have a family member who can't eat nuts, I have an alternate faux pecan pie hint. Instead of pecans, break up the same amount of Ritz crackers and toss with two tablespoons of melted butter...very gently. Make sure not to make them too small or they will turn to crumbs, about the size of a pecan piece or a little bigger. The taste and texture is so close, you will be amazed. I got the idea from the fake depression era apple pie recipe that use to be on every box of Ritz crackers. My sister and nephew request them for every holiday get together and get mad if anyone else wants a piece.

I got one passed on but don't have exact measurements. So excuse my guestimatin
Approximately:::
A couple cups of roasted pecans give or take
A couple tbls of flour
A 1/2 cup of butter
2 packed cups and scoop another half of brown sugar
3 extra large or 4 medium eggs
1/2 tbls of vanilla
Around 1/8 cup of milk.

Mix all the ingredients except the pecans
Lay the pecans in the pie crusts, pour in the remaining ingredients and bake 325 for an hour or till done.
