I urge you to travel.

As far and as much as possible.

Work ridiculous shifts to save your money.

Go without the latest I Phone.

Throw yourself out of your comfort zone.

Find out how other people live & realize that the world is a much bigger
place than the town you live in.

And when you came home, home may still be the same,

& yes, you may go back to the same old job,

but something in your mind will have changed,

And trust me, that changes everything

Excellent advice! As one of six kids growing up in rural Oklahoma, NO ONE in our extended family traveled. We only drove to Calif a couple times and camped out in the woods a few times but that was a bit much for the other families to emulate. Then we actually moved to Alaska when I was just 14; now we're talking outer space to those dear Okies! But that was the extent of travel for me since raising my kids alone after I lost my husband precluded any vacations for many many years -- because I worked instead of going on the dole. But NOW I am retired (3 years) :) and have finally started to travel. Just around America, including a nice drive to Minnesota from Alaska, been to Hawaii for the first time (and returned twice already), Colorado, Oklahoma. Looking at a cruise or maybe Scotland or New Zealand. It is true that travel broadens horizons with new experiences and it enlarges oneself. Worth saving for, I agree!

Did a lot of it as a kid and never looked forward to going into big cities, now I'm married and wife wants to go all over the place at great expense and always to major population centers of this country, the woman has a death wish.
