I don't doubt Hillary wants it SO bad. But there are millions who are just as sick of Hillary as any other recurring politician, and she would not be welcomed with universally open arms. More like a gigantic eye roll.

My money is on Warren getting the nomination at this point. Biden is sinking slowly, and I don't buy that Michelle will run.

It sounds like you’re advocating assassination. We don’t allow that discussion here.
Of course you don't - but it does not mean that it isn't being quietly discussed/thought about by some as a potentially viable alternative solution to a communist dictatorial takeover, should push come to shove - how many threads are there on TB2K where such is alluded to as a "final" solution? What were Thomas Jefferson's written thoughts regarding the REAL purpose of the Second Amendment?

As Prominent Republicans Betray Trump, The Media Urges Americans To Get Ready For “President Mike Pence”
September 28, 2019 by Michael Snyder

Impeachment mania is reaching a fever pitch in Washington, and as I reported a couple of days ago, the Democrats are hoping to have articles of impeachment ready for a House vote around Thanksgiving. But in order to impeach the president of the United States, you need to have an impeachable offense first, and even if everything that is being alleged is 100 percent true there is simply no impeachable offense in this case. In recent days there has been a lot of talk about “the integrity of our elections” and Donald Trump has been accused of “betraying his oath of office”, but top Democrats never seem to publicly bring up any specific law that Trump has violated. The U.S. Constitution sets a high standard for impeaching the president, and unless that standard is met, impeachment proceedings should not go forward. Some progressive writers have attempted to suggest that Trump is guilty of bribery, extortion, obstruction of justice or a campaign finance violation, but none of those crimes comes anywhere close to fitting the facts of this case. Democrats may have been offended by what Trump said during his call with the president of Ukraine, but being offended is not enough to impeach someone.

Just as Trump is commander in chief of the U.S. military, so also is he the top law enforcement official in the land. And as the top law enforcement official, it is entirely appropriate for him to go after corruption wherever it is found.

Joe Biden and his son were clearly involved in some very shady things in Ukraine, and there is nothing wrong with Trump encouraging the president of Ukraine to look into those things.

Considering the current political climate in Washington, it may not have been the most advisable thing to do, but Trump certainly did not break any law.

And if the Republican Party was 100 percent united behind Trump, this entire saga would go away very quickly. Once Democrats realized that there was zero chance of a successful vote in the Senate, the momentum toward impeachment would completely fizzle out.

But that isn’t happening. In fact, a Republican member of the House just announced that he is publicly supporting the impeachment inquiry…

Rep. Mark Amodei supports the House’s inquiry into whether President Donald Trump should be impeached, but is withholding judgment on whether Trump has crossed the legal line.

“Let’s put it through the process and see what happens,” Amodei, the only Republican in the state’s congressional delegation, said on a call Friday with reporters, adding that he believes Congress is justified to look into the matter.

“I’m a big fan of oversight, so let’s let the committees get to work and see where it goes,” he added.

And this comes on the heels of two Republican governors coming out in favor of it as well…

Two Republican governors recently announced they are in favor of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, which makes them the very first members of the Republican Party to publicly voice support for the investigation.

Vermont Governor Phil Scott was the first GOP chief executive to throw his support behind the impeachment proceedings, saying he is not surprised by the president’s alleged actions. However, Scott warned Democrats to stay focused on the facts. He emphasized that the inquiry needs to be objective and should not be based on political motivations surrounding the upcoming election.
Report Ad

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said that he also supports a congressional investigation into President Trump.

In addition, Republican presidential candidate William Weld is making headlines all over the world by suggesting that President Trump deserves the death penalty…

The former Massachusetts Governor said that President Donald Trump’s ‘acts of treason’ in allegedly pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden deserved the death penalty.

During an interview on MSNBC’S Morning Joe, he claimed: ‘Talk about pressuring a foreign country to interfere with and control a U.S. election, it couldn’t be clearer.

‘And that’s not just undermining Democratic institutions, that is treason. It’s treason pure and simple and the penalty for treason under the U.S. code is death.’

Is he serious?

Personally, I don’t think that Weld even understands the definition of “treason”, and he should be completely and utterly ashamed of himself for suggesting such a thing.

In the end, what is really going to matter is what Republicans in the Senate think. If there is a vote on articles of impeachment on the House floor, Nancy Pelosi is going to make sure that vote is successful. Then this matter will go to the Senate, and it will take 67 votes to remove Trump from office.

Of course Democrats only have 47 seats in the Senate, and so you would think that this should be an insurmountable obstacle.

But the truth is that there are a lot of establishment Republicans in the Senate that do not like Trump at all, and it is being suggested that many of them may be willing to vote against Trump…

Former Republican Senator Jeff Flake said that he thinks at least 35 Republican senators would vote for President Donald Trump to be removed from office if they could vote in private.

Speaking at the 2019 Texas Tribune Festival Thursday, Flake was responding to comments made by Republican political consultant Mike Murphy on MSNBC who said that if there was a secret vote, at least 30 GOP Senators would back impeachment.

“That’s not true. There would be at least 35,” Flake said.

I warned that we could be facing this sort of scenario if we didn’t send the right people to Washington, and now Donald Trump’s fate could end up in the hands of a group of RINOs that do not feel any sense of loyalty to Trump at all.

And at this point the mainstream media smells blood and they are salivating over the prospect that Donald Trump could soon be removed from the White House. In fact, B.J. Rudell is suggesting that it is time for Republicans “to rally around President Mike Pence”…

Republicans might still determine that abandoning Trump — and likely the presidency — is their best hope for preserving some power in Washington. But the longer they wait, the more politically damaging the breakup will be. End it now and there’s still time to rally around President Mike Pence and perhaps broaden the party’s appeal with the selection of a new vice president.

But the only way that Donald Trump is going to be removed from office is if he is voted out by the Republican-controlled Senate.

And if the Republican-controlled Senate actually did that, it would fracture the Republican Party beyond repair.

The Trump faction would be at war with the establishment faction, and it might even result in a split into two separate political parties.

Meanwhile, the Democrats would be laughing the entire time, and they would sweep the 2020 elections in a landslide of epic proportions.

So if the Republican Party wants any sort of a future at all, the Republicans in the Senate must stay united behind Trump.

Sadly, the truth is that more evidence continues to come out that indicates that this entire thing is a setup. The Federalist’s Sean Davis has just pointed out that someone quietly altered the intelligence community whistleblower complaint form to allow submissions by individuals with no first-hand knowledge of the underlying evidence…

Between May 2018 and August 2019, the intelligence community secretly eliminated a requirement that whistleblowers provide direct, first-hand knowledge of alleged wrongdoings. This raises questions about the intelligence community’s behavior regarding the August submission of a whistleblower complaint against President Donald Trump. The new complaint document no longer requires potential whistleblowers who wish to have their concerns expedited to Congress to have direct, first-hand knowledge of the alleged wrongdoing that they are reporting.

The brand new version of the whistleblower complaint form, which was not made public until after the transcript of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and the complaint addressed to Congress were made public, eliminates the first-hand knowledge requirement and allows employees to file whistleblower complaints even if they have zero direct knowledge of underlying evidence and only “heard about [wrongdoing] from others.”

If that document had not been altered, the anonymous whistleblower would have never been able to submit his complaint in the first place.

And as I have already discussed, even if every single thing that is being alleged is true, there is simply no impeachable offense here.

But lawlessness is running rampant in Washington at this point, and it appears that a well-orchestrated plot to take Trump down in unfolding right in front of our eyes.

MMJ,

Assuming you truly don't care for Pence I would ask WHO would float your boat, politically?

Remember that in the impeachment scenario such as the current one you don't get to select the replacement. It would be Pence (assuming he wasn't lynched as well) followed by the Speaker of the House and then the Senate President Pro-Tem. I believe the list of succession would apply thereafter...all the way down to officeholders such as Education Secretary or Transportation Secretary (thankfully near the bottom of the list).

If Pence bothers you so much please consider the alternatives...Hillary "Eva Peron" Clinton or Nancy "Lady MacBeth" Pelosi. The winners can pick and choose. afaik.

With Biden Damaged And Warren Surging, Could Hillary Clinton Still Enter The Presidential Race?
September 27, 2019 by Michael Snyder

Just a few weeks ago, it seemed exceedingly unlikely that Hillary Clinton would enter the race for the White House in 2020. But now the Biden campaign is deeply struggling, and the constant focus that the impeachment inquiry is putting on his son’s dealings in Ukraine has already significantly damaged his chances. Joe Biden’s numbers are sliding nationally, and in the early voting states they are really starting to plunge. The only thing that made him a strong candidate in the first place was the fact that he was Barack Obama’s vice-president for eight years, and unfortunately for Biden his weaknesses are really being exposed over course of this campaign. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren has been surging nationally, and she is now in first place in several of the early voting states. This has put the Democratic establishment in panic mode, because it now looks like Warren has a really good shot of actually beating Biden. But none of the other establishment candidates have been able to maintain any sort of traction whatsoever, and at this point none of them are even close to double digits in the major national polls. So that means that establishment Democrats need a savior, and it turns out that “savior” could end up being Hillary Clinton.

And all of a sudden Hillary Clinton is popping up all over the place in the mainstream media. She has repeatedly supported the impeachment inquiry in recent days, and she very much sounds like someone that does not plan to stay on the sidelines for much longer.

Just consider the following excerpt from an interview with Jane Pauley that will be broadcast this weekend on “CBS Sunday Morning”…

“I had a chance to visit with Nancy backstage and I really share her view that the seriousness with which she has addressed the question of impeachment is exactly in line with what a sobering decision she had to make,” Clinton said. “And now she must proceed with an impeachment inquiry into the president, who has betrayed his oath of office to uphold the Constitution and protect and defend our country. This occupant of the Oval Office poses a clear and present danger to our future and our democracy.”

“This is not a partisan political statement, it is a harsh reality, which is why the Speaker has acted. Because it goes to the core of our values, our strength, our freedom, our security, our prosperity.”

If things had gone smoothly for Joe Biden, we would not even be talking about the possibility of another Clinton run for the presidency.

But Biden’s struggles have opened up a door for Elizabeth Warren, and this week two national polls actually showed her leading Biden.

Needless to say, the Democratic establishment is really starting to become concerned, because they don’t want Elizabeth Warren to win the race. In fact, CNBC is reporting that big Democratic donors on Wall Street “are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle” if Warren gets the nomination…

Democratic donors on Wall Street and in big business are preparing to sit out the presidential campaign fundraising cycle — or even back President Donald Trump — if Sen. Elizabeth Warren wins the party’s nomination.

In recent weeks, CNBC spoke to several high-dollar Democratic donors and fundraisers in the business community and found that this opinion was becoming widely shared as Warren, an outspoken critic of big banks and corporations, gains momentum against Joe Biden in the 2020 race.

So why don’t they like Warren?

Well, maybe it is because she was viciously attacking Wall Street long before she got elected to the U.S. Senate.

And of course her “wealth tax” is not winning her any friends among the Wall Street elite either. If you are not familiar with this proposal, here is a brief summary…

Consider the version of a wealth tax proposed by Elizabeth Warren. She was inspired by the work of French economist Thomas Piketty, who made the case for a global wealth tax in his blockbuster 2014 volume Capital in the 21st Century. Since then, Warren has tapped the research of UC Berkeley economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman (each of whom is also French).

Senator Warren’s proposal is straightforward. It would target the “richest 0.1 percent of Americans.” Households with a net worth of $50 million or more would pay an annual tax of 2 percent on every dollar of net worth above $50 million and 3 percent on every dollar above $1 billion. Warren believes that with this wealth tax she can raise $2.75 trillion over ten years, which is a good thing because she has a ton of new programs that she would like to implement.

This “wealth tax” would be in addition to the federal income tax, and many among the elite are deeply concerned about what this would mean for their bank accounts.

After all, how would you feel if someone came along and took 2 or 3 percent of the money out of your bank account every single year? One year might not be too bad, but after five or ten years we are talking about some real money.

In any event, the Wall Street elite do not like Elizabeth Warren at all, and so if Joe Biden can’t get the job done they need somebody else that will.

And at this moment it appears that their best alternative is Hillary Clinton.

Of course Hillary would love to redeem herself for her failure in 2016, and it is interesting to note that she does have “a full slate of media appearances scheduled next week”. The following comes from Gateway Pundit…

Speculation is starting to grow that the repeatedly failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton may try to run for office once again as she has a full slate of media appearances scheduled next week.

The former First Lady is making appearances on CBS Sunday Morning, Stephen Colbert, and The View.

The media blitz is being billed as a way to promote her and her daughter Chelsea Clinton’s new book, The Book of Gutsy Women — but comments she has been making recently have fueled theories that she may have ulterior motives.

So will Hillary actually pull the trigger and make another run for the White House?

It still feels like a bit of a long shot, but many believe that it is definitely a possibility.

Let’s keep an eye on the Biden campaign. The worse Joe Biden does, the more nervous the Democratic elite are going to become, and if things get bad enough they will literally be begging Hillary Clinton to save them.

And, even with stacking the deck at the DNC and winning the nomination, and having the debate questions in advance, and having the Trump campaign spied on, and having Wolfe Blitzer run his stories by her staff, and numerous districts committing voter fraud, she couldn't win. The DNC will not allow her to run no matter how many skeletons in how many closets she knows of.

It isn't going to happen. Quit wasting your breath on the topic.

Obama could step in and run for the Democrats. There has now been another President after him, so he could get 2 more terms??

Two reasons Obama doesn't endorse Biden - one, the Hunter Biden scandals which he knows will come out to hurt Biden Sr...... and the other could be he would endorse himself, and step in to save the Nation, which would be highly divided (and maybe at War by then).....or he could serve as Vice President to one of the twits running now, and they might graciously step aside to allow him to become President.

FDR served 4 terms in spite of the rules saying only 2 terms per President.

Anything at all that the house puts into the actual Articles of Impeachment that gets a majority vote of the members. It's like an indictment from a grand jury except that it can be for absolutely anything the house says.

In truth they could impeach him because of bad hair and if they get the majority vote he would be impeached.

The real trick is that it means nothing unless during the actual trial in the Senate, 2/3rds votes for conviction.

By the way it is more like a real trial in the Senate where the defendant (trump) can cross exam witnesses and put forth a real defense.

How would the average voter know the difference, particularly with the MSM being owned/controlled by the deep staters?
