Kinda silly question but....

Ok this may seem kinda trivial and silly but, what the heck.

Have a freind with a 1985 Supra standard, has a sqeaky clutch pedel, press it in, and as it hits floor it does just this irratating sqeak.

Ok ive got the WD-40, where do I aim it

Follow the linkage..starting one at a time under the dash..squirt and check for "squeak" fix. Prolly the offending joint is under there anyway. Otherwise in today's designs you wouldn't hear it from inside.

Actually I'd just work the linkage with my ear close by. You should be able to locate the source easily that way.

However, once you find the location, don't stop with only WD40. Because once WD evaporates it doesn't leave much oil so the fix would be temporary. So ya wanna then add some regular grease to the squeaky joint. Use very little, working the joint to work it in. You may be able to find some grease on the door hinges you can tranfer to the clutch linkage squeaky joint.

DO NOT squirt WD into (linkage) cable housings. IIRC there is a special graphite lube for those. WD will dilute/destroy it. They don't cause squeaks anyway. But where they connect to the linkage may.
