We love ham hocks and beans, but ham hocks have so much sodium in it that my husband can't have anymore. Is there any way of cooking this to reduce the sodium from the ham hocks?
I'm not sure if this an Alaska thing or a normal way of doing. Smoked Pork Neck ...you do have to sift for the small bones but that is not hard. My bean soups are based on this and so yummy!! - too bad (well, maybe not!) we don't have feral hogs up here. I'm trying right now to see if my cannelloni beans are still viable for next year's gardens....
At least I still have moose, sheep, salmon.....for now.
