In your just world, may almost every human encounter that you have, be with a felon with a firearm.

What part of a well regulated militia do you not comprehend?
The right to bear arms is not contingent on the well regulated militia. They are two separate concepts written in one sentence.

In a just world, which existed pretty much up until LBJ, criminals dangerous enough that they can’t be trusted with a gun would be locked up.

Correct. . . We’re just beginning to see the “ windup” . . . The pro Palestinian clown show is simply the rebranding/repackaging of the ANTIFAG/BLM skum . . . It/they will become the anti TRUMP shock troops
THIS I agree with.

But not necessarily the "jump" to judgment of the cops here.

Looks to me (have only read thru this post by Raggedyman so far) like your typical GTR hoodie-wearer "cappin cops"--and It is an insult to j6 and other legitimate 1st-2nd amendment protestors to lump this guy in with them

The day after four law enforcement officers died in the line of duty serving a warrant in Charlotte, more details are released Tuesday as officials piece together a timeline of the mass shooting.

Officials also revealed the identities of the U.S. Marshal, two officers with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction and a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who were fatally shot on Monday.

Three of the other Charlotte officers injured in the shootout have been released from the hospital. The fourth is in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

The suspect, identified as 39-year-old Terry Clark Hughes Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene after the gunfire with officers ensued. Two other females found inside the home were taken into custody, but they have not been charged and are cooperating with the investigation.

1:30 p.m. Monday — Suspect Opens Fire on Approaching Officers

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, which consists of officers from multiple agencies, were conducting an investigation at a home in the North Tryon Division at around 1:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) press release. The officers were attempting to serve a felony warrant for Hughes.

As officers approached, Hughes opened fire, police said. Several officials were struck. Hughes also shot other officers attempting to respond to the initial gunfire.

2:23 p.m. — SWAT Team Responds, Residents Told to Avoid Area

The CMPD SWAT Team responded to the scene of the shooting by 2:23 p.m., according to an X post from the police department. Residents were advised to avoid the area. Hundreds of police vehicles flooded the area as the gun battle unfolded.

2:55 p.m. — Police Announce Road Closures As Victims Are Taken to Hospitals

Police notified the public that major roads in the area would be shut down to expedite the transport of victims to local hospitals.

Eight officers were taken to area hospitals. North Carolina Department of Adult Correction officers Samuel Poloche and William Alden Elliot, as well as Deputy U.S. Marshal Thomas Weeks were pronounced dead at the hospital.

The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed Weeks' death in a statement.

"Thomas M. Weeks Jr., 48, of Mooresville, North Carolina, died in the line of duty at approximately 1:30 p.m. April 29 when the suspect opened fire on the group of law enforcement officers, killing Weeks and three others," the statement said.

Weeks was a 13-year veteran and served the Western District of North Carolina for 10 years.

A fourth officer, 6-year veteran Joshua Eyer, died of his injuries several hours later. He was a member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

4:46 p.m. — SWAT Works to Clear Residence

The SWAT team was working to clear the residence at 4:46 p.m., police said in an X post. Residents were told that there was still a heavy police presence in the area.

4:56 p.m. — Area Deemed Safe by Police

"The residence on Galway Drive is now clear, and the area is safe. Residents no longer need to shelter in place," CMPD wrote on X at 4:56 p.m.

Police announced Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene. Hughes was wanted on one count of possession of a firearm by a felon and two counts of felony flee to elude in Lincoln County.

5:40 p.m. — Police Hold Press Briefing

Law enforcement officials and Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles disclosed more details of the massacre at a press briefing Monday night.

Police Chief Johnny Jennings confirmed the suspect was found dead in the front lawn after law enforcement officials returned gunfire.

Two individuals were found inside of the home. Both were taken to the police station for questioning, Jennings said.

"We're trying to determine now what exactly occurred inside of the residence," Jennings said.

Lyles asked the community to honor the victims and vowed to make the city safer.

"The most that I can ask of our community is that we honor and respect them for all the work that they've done, all the work that we will do to make it possible for our city to be safer," Lyles said.

11 a.m. Tuesday — Law Enforcement Gives Update

Chief Jennings and other officials held another press briefing on Tuesday to provide updates on the investigation.

"This is a scar on Charlotte," Jennings said. "We will get through this."

Officers Christopher Tolley, Michael Giglio and Jack Blowers were treated for gunshot wounds, Jennings said. Justin Campell was treated for a broken foot. Tolley remains in the hospital in stable condition after undergoing surgery.

An AR-15 rifle, a 40-caliber handgun and additional ammunition and magazines were recovered from the scene.

The two individuals found inside the residence are cooperating with the investigation, Jennings said.

Twelve CMPD officers fired their service weapons during the shooting. All twelve officers were placed on administrative leave as police conduct an internal investigation.

Jennings said officials are still investigating the gunfire coming from multiple locations on the second floor of the residence and if there is a possible second shooter.

Umm, what about the 2nd shooter who fired at the officers after they down the initial suspect? I thought they took fire as they tried to reach the downed suspect. Stand-off and all that.

RR
Right? If we have the one dead shooter, he fired at least 3 lethal shots and 5 more at the wounded cops before he was put down?

There’s a war on law enforcement in America.

I want to support the police and law and order.
Watching the supposed livestream video, of the two LEO's taking cover behind someone's car in their garage.
They best be careful wearing the operator tough guy plainclothes outfit. They're lucky the homeowner didn't blast them for taking cover in his garage and having a firefight. Mistaking them for who the F knows what? They didn't look like cops.

I can see this happening, but it doesn't explain the reported stand-off following the nullification of the original subject.

I am not big on building conspiracies like some members are (not naming anyone in this instance, just in general) but either the original story was a pipe dream fantasy after the first rounds were fired, or somebody is hiding something. Pretty sure, though, it has nothing to do with Ivermectin or clot shots.

The first casualty in conflict is the truth though some argue it is lack of bias in reporting…. Agreed though the whole atory sounds too…odd. Still waiting for more to come out before forming an opinion.

A Man Killed Four Cops And Broke ‘Gun Control’ Laws, But Media Aren’t Invested In The Story For Some Reason

A white man shot black law enforcement officers this week, ultimately killing four of them and wounding four more, and he did it as they were attempting to arrest him for breaking “gun control” laws. Where are all the stories about “white supremacy” and “assault weapons bans”?

Wait, never mind. The suspect is black and all four victims are white. Nothing to see here, after all!

It’s interesting how that works. Just shy of four years ago, our national news media and Democrats in general declared it time for a “racial reckoning” because one erratic fentanyl addict died of a heart attack in custody after a cop attempted to wrestle him under control. We haven’t stopped hearing about it since. But on Monday, Terry Clark Hughes Jr., 39, under warrant for illegal firearm possession and evading arrest, allegedly greeted police arriving to take him into custody by raining rounds of bullets on them using his rifle from the second story of a nondescript suburban home.

Hughes was killed in the shootout, but so were officers Sam Poloche, Alden Elliot, Joshua Eyer, and Thomas Weeks. Did I mention they were simply trying to arrest Hughes for illegally owning a gun, a breach of laws I’m promised by the media are vital to the safety of every man, woman, and child in America?

Without being too blunt here: It’s because Hughes is BLACK.

Not even a month ago, the media had us on the verge of Floyd 2.0 after a 26-year-old man allegedly initiated gunfire on police from his SUV. Authorities were pulling Dexter Reed over for a traffic violation and commanding that he open his window when he allegedly pulled the trigger, only to receive a barrage of bullets from police in return, striking him 13 times total.

But hey, none of the police involved were killed, so no biggie! The real issue is that Reed himself died — because he’s BLACK.

Washington Post: “Police fire 96 shots in 41 seconds, killing Black man during traffic stop.”

CNN: “The family of Dexter Reed, a 26-year-old Black man who was killed in a hail of bullets fired by police during a traffic stop…”

Associated Press: “Video shows the 26-year-old Black man briefly lowering a window and then raising it and refusing to exit the vehicle as more officers arrived…”

Guess who didn’t mention the race of the black man who just allegedly killed four white cops with an illegally owned gun. Answer: None of the above. Neither did The New York Times, CBS, NBC, or ABC. Nor did the Times, the Post, or the AP post a photo of Hughes.

To their credit, ABC, CBS, and CNN at least published Hughes’ mugshot from a previous offense, one of many on his extensive criminal record. Meanwhile, the Times’ only mention of the word “black” in its coverage was to describe the color of the SWAT team vehicles outside the house where he was hiding.

But I can promise you this article is the last thing you’ll hear of Hughes, at least so far as his race is concerned. Sure, it’s an election year, but even though he allegedly killed four officers, injured an additional four, and did so with an illegally owned gun, it’s not quite what the media are looking for in their next George Floyd. If only he hadn’t killed and wounded nearly 10 people while running from the cops with an unlawful firearm, he might have been the media’s next hero.
