Misc On a positive note

Hit the base commissary today for a few prep-related things. Also hit the Class VI (liquor store) for beer and picked up a sample pack. These are 12-15 beers for about $15.99, put together from broken cases at warehouses. My ethics prohibit me from opening a box to see what is in it; rather I rely on the Good Lord to get me a box I will enjoy. To my delight of the 12 beers in today's sampler, 11 were either ones I've not had-to add to my life list- or ones I've already immensely enjoyed. One was a pumpkin beer, not my favorite but perhaps worth a try.

speaking of beer - local store chain had a recent sale out of the blue - Old Style 24 count suitcases for $9 - wasn't that cheap for The 4th & Labor Day

And gas on base went DOWN two cents. Same price as yesterday elsewhere. Calm before storm?

Of course the pumpkin beer is worth a try. Enjoyed a pint myself this past weekend. Delicious.
