A Spectrum employee let us know that the Internet was gonna be out for possibly 3 days. Starting tonightThe local gas stations have been shut down on and off. Due to Internet outages also, he said it would range from Canada down through Oregon or Northern California.

76 station owner Told me that because I-5 was closed North and South, Due to the snow.that the Rogue Valley southern Oregon Oregon. area had actually been running out of gasoline. There was only two stations open within 30 miles of me now

Sounds like you folks are getting the "Snowmageddon" that our mountains here in SoCal got last year! Sure hope it's not the 10-12 feet we got in one weekend!! Took almost two weeks just to dig out and nearly a month for all the roads to be cleared and repaired. :bhd:

We’re in south central WA. Been super cold here for about four days and won’t begin to warm up (slightly) till next week. More snow expected every day for the next four days. Sunday night it was down to 0 degrees. Windchill made it -25 degrees and our well froze Got the frozen section thawed late Monday. We had a couple hundred gallons stored, so we were fine. Was a PIA though. Have lost power twice since then. Lottsa fun.

We are good here but surrounded by mountain ranges. But this is small stuff compared to some of the TB folks elsewhere....

Yep, ambient minus 20 & 30 F for the last four days here. Windchill was making it worse yesterday. Warming up now with two feet of snow arriving by Friday morning. Four power outages totaling 24 hours plus. A lot of neighbors lost heat & water, me included on the water. Looks like spring before camp lack a nooky gets water again. Normal for dysfunction junction, however life in squalor holler is fraught with intermittent peril and joy. The dog and I will endeavor to persevere. All the best to the rest!

We've had frigid temps consistently below zero for the last several days, and wind chills in the -20f to -30f range. We've had frozen water pipes, frozen drains and frozen "frost free" hydrants. It's been a full time job for dh to keep things running.

Now it's going to warm up a little bit and we're expected to get 9-17" of snow. Now he'll be busy plowing. Can't wait for February!! But, because we've had such cold temps, break up is going to be a bear this spring.

I hope things get better there for you. I had to laugh at your writing. Not your situation. Best of luck. At least it has to warm up to snow, right? Or does it?

May I submit sincere thanks to your considerate reply. I believe comic relief, is better than bitching and moaning. The human condition is fraught with peril. Therefore, all are subject to the storms of adversity. Cold or hot, wet and dry. Lonely or overwhelmed. Life & death.

How we respond is indicative of our character and personality.

I choose life.

And yes, it's getting warmer while massive snow is slated to fall in camp. After 24 inches of snow, it's predicted to rain for a few days.

Super cold ground and trees (-20s) meet wind, snow, and, rain. What a mess!

Bring it on, I guess.

Elective surgery next Wednesday, nonetheless.

All in all, God Bless!

Tom McDowell -- will pray that your surgery goes well, and you survive the weather.

Here it's currently -1 actual, -27 feels like with windchill advisory till noon tomorrow. My hibernation continues. Didn't even go to the mailbox at the end of the drive today.

And here I thought we had it bad! Last night and night before, our lows were one and zero with highs running between six and eight with a balmy fifteen today. We've had several days of this including a dry light snow that was just enough to thaw a little and leave a sheet of ice on all the roads.

DH had a bug and didn't work Thursday...he works with young guys who are constantly sharing their kiddos germs. He's been off since then because of road conditions and has spent the last two days fine tuning our weather proofing efforts.

Our well froze last night but so far, thank goodness, that's all that has failed...that we know of. I lost one chicken the first night and I figure my strawberries are gone because I forgot to cover them.

DH is getting that caged bear syndrome but I've talked him into staying home one more day. DS lives in the city where DH will be working and he says the roads are still bad when you get off the main ones. If we had anywhere south that would do, I'd consider moving for the golden years.
