Organic POPCORN!

If you have not tried it, you have to, that is all I can say! Well..not all, because I must elaborate! I was sceptical, because it is almost impossible to find good popcorn. We have even bought some that smells like B.O. when popped in the mic. wave. :kk2: I think that came from the Co. that all the workers are now suing because it stunk so bad. Anyway I was sceptical and did not get excited about popping it because I am so used to popcorn turning out bad. Well I did not even get the coco. oil out, which by the way is the best oil to pop corn in. NFL was on. I popped it in Wesson oil, and proceeded to have the best popcorn I have ever had in my entire life. Like popping a cloud into the mouth. Literally melted like a cloud of good taste! It is so exciting to find some great popcorn! I plan to really stock up! I can't wait to pop this in the coco oil! It is the best I have ever had!

I will try this as soon as I run out of my y2k stash of popcorn! I have the West Bend Stir Crazy popcorn maker and it is excellent. I use to use the pot with the stir handle but the Stir Crazy is better. I add about a teaspoon of water to the oil and so far the old popcorn pops up fluffy and light.

Do you mean coconut oil? I've never seen this.

I buy organic popcorn from the health food store. The only kind we have eaten in the past few years. We pop it in a pan. I did buy a couple bags of microwave popcorn a few months ago when the health food store was out. No one liked the micro wave popcorn. At one time we all liked microwave popcorn, now the only kind we like is the organic.

OTOH .....have any of you ever taken a dried corn on the cob and popped it? You pretty much have to put it in a paper bag and then microwave it.

Well I did buy some black popcorn once from the grocery store. It says on the bag U. S. Protected Variety, and all of this unauthorized seed multiplication prohibited stuff with alot of numbers after it. Weird! But it is UNedible! It is black, and I am looking at it now and wondering what to do with it. I think I will toss it. Thanks you guys for posting!! I popped the organic again the other day and was super good! This bag I have that is black says Black Jewel on it. So sad that it will not pop. I paid good money for it. I hope no one else gets ripped off by it. Well it did pop but was un edible after it did.

I want one of the Stir Crazys! Do they sell them at Walmart? Never tried the water. I will try it! Expeller expressed coconut oil really does well! Yes, I mean Coconut oil. It makes a great oil to pop corn in! Love it!

Is it corn that has been grown to pop? I have never heard of doing this. How does it taste?

Weevils!

That is cute how they have the spelling "We evil" in their name! (not cute!) They are evil! I think I will have to vacuum pack my organic pop corn! WE evils are in it! I am almost glad to see the we evils, because it is a certainty that it does not have the pesticide in it. I guess! I think I can put it in the freezer to kill them. Then vacuum pack it. So be on the lookout for the weevils!
