Food Portable Soup

My recipe: cover beef scrapes and bones and meat in crock pot. Cook on low for about two days. Strain and chill over night (at least) in fridge peal off solidified fat. Slice gelatinous gel into chunks about an inch square and a half inch think. I have an old dehydrator that the heating element died and just blows air. Hope it works. - OGM

Easiest Way to Make Portable Soup

Portable soup is a meat broth that is condensed to solid form. It was a very common ration/survival food in the 18th century, and it can be used as a wonderful flavor enhancer in any modern dish. Making portable soup, however, takes a long time, and if you don't watch it closely, it is easily ruined. In this video, we show you a easy, nearly fail-safe way to make it at home so that you can take it to your next historical event or have it on hand the next time you need broth or wish to boost the flavor of your favorite dish or soup.

Sigh... The dehydrator produced more heat than I thought or the gel wasn't thick enough yet. I've got a mess in the kitchen. Has anyone here made this successfully?

God has a plan, Trust it!
Mix in a ziplock bag: One cup each of freeze dried onion, carrot, celery, diced chicken and 1/4 cup chicken bouillon. Wallah! Portable soup! Just add water and boil.
