Recipe help...broccoli, califlower, nuts...

I had the best salad over Memorial Day at a neighbors. The person didn't give me the recipe though. It was probably a mayo based dressing with chopped fresh califlower, broccoli, almonds, sunflower seeds and that's all I remember for sure.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the one that is popular out here but they all use Ranch Dressing and sometime a handful of raisins or a sprinkle of bacon bits.

I'm pretty sure it didn't have ranch dressing or bacon...that reminds me of one we used to fix with peas.
This was sweeter....
I don't remember any onions.

This is the recipe I use for a broccoli and cauliflower salad. I also use the same dressing for my cole slaw.

1 cup of mayo
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vinegar

Mix dressing until the sugar has dissolved. Then you can mix in anything you want. Broccoli, cauliflower, onions, raisins, bacon, cashews---whatever you like.

My family loves this recipe and when my husband has a pot-luck at work, the guys ask him to bring my cole slaw.

Well, it definitely contains onions, but this is the broccoli salad I've had. It's excellent, and if you don't like bacon, you could easily substitute sunflower seeds.

1 bunch broccoli (about 3 cups florets)
1/2 head cauliflower (about 2 cups florets)
5 baby carrots or 1 1/2 small regular carrots
1/2 small sweet onion
1/2 pound bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons granular sugar substitute
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

1. In a food processor pulse broccoli, cauliflower, carrots and onion separately until vegetables are the size of peas.(If you don’t have a processor, very finely chop the vegetables.)Place in large bowl. Add bacon and cheese to the vegetable mixture.
2. In a small bowl whisk mayonnaise, sugar substitute, vinegar, salt and pepper to combine. Pour dressing over vegetable mixture and stir until ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Astrogirl...I think this is probably the recipe. I'm sure she improvised using what she had. I don't remember the bacon but I know their minimal in their meat eating and large in their veggie consumption. She had her veggies chopped pretty small but I'm doubting she used a food processor. Thanks I'm making this tomorrow!

I was thinking I'd like raisins and what a great way to use all these wild onions! Thanks everyone!

Next time I make this stuff, I think I'll add some sunflower seeds and cut back on the onion.
