…… Riding Mower problem

I have a Troy Built Pony - wonderful machine. For the last two months it has been leaving a small strip of uncut grass right in the center of the swath. Can anyone tell me what my problem is and if there is a solution for that problem? It is a curious problem because logic would say the blades would get that little strip.

What shape are your blades in? Might need sharpening or replacing.

If you are mowing in sand, the blades can be worn down pretty quickly.

I think if you check your blades, you will find them worn down and rounded on the ends. That is what usually happens on multi- blade mowers.

Is something caught under the deck, or a piece of metal off the deck bent down pushing the grass, so the grass is not getting cut,

similar to a wheel track on some mowers,

it's been working OK - you didn't monkey with the blades or deck - didn't hit anything - it's the blade tips >>> there's just a whisper of an overlap in the midgap - try sharpening if the blades are a good brand and fairly new ...
