Tips Road Size and Travel Ease

Spent today on the two-lanes in the Mid-Atlantic. Wow. Ran into some big rigs with guide cars, front and rear.

My first thought was that an RV of any size would be problematic on these roads shortly for several reasons:

-Gas purchase is cash on these backroads IF you can find a station every 75 miles.

-Roads are narrow and winding and the many bridges are one-lane/wt limits. (be sure you get maps with weight limits info)Some underpasses are height-challenging.

-You stick out like a sore thumb as an unknown person driving through small communities. (Shoot, I was in an AWD and still felt obvious watching the small groups of men --they were always men---sipping coffee in the early hours staring down drivers. One group was striking, another was "working on the road".)

-There are few places to pull off/test your brakes/get out of sight.

Plan ahead or you will be on the interstate with all the DGIs.
