Good for you!! It will be worth it. I've had a very small footprint now for a number of years. Just a few acres and a small cabin but I was just thanking the Lord this morning that I no longer have many of the burdens and stress that so many people have. No mortgage or rent to pay, no vehicle payment, ect. I may not have a 'lot' according to some but what I do have is paid for and I sleep pretty good at night. Best wishes in your new adventure.

I just got my first water bill, $18.00 min until I use over 2,000 gals. That's a hoot, I doubt I'll ever use that much. I even got electricity hooked up before I had an account with the electric company. That happened because I was working thru the field agent for the electric company. He called me the other day and said, "Miss Judy, do you have an account set up yet", I laughed because in all my planning I had not done that, but he transfered me to the office and I get it set up by phone. Every person in my new location has been so helpful and nice. All except for the cousins that have hunted on this land for 30+ years. I've been telling them that I'm gonna move there (for 11 years) and they keep saying no you won't. haha, the laughs on them, they can hunt on their own land. And in ten short days I'll be living there.
