Secret Beach

It's been a while since I've shared a photo here, but I think you might enjoy this one :). This is a 21-shot panoramic image of the Milky Way rising above Secret Beach near Brookings, Oregon. This is the first decent shot of the Milky Way that I have been able to capture this year, which is exciting since it should just get better from here on out. I've attached a low resolution version to this thread, if you'd like to view a higher resolution image, here's a link to the image on imgur - http://imgur.com/MxKf1np

Hope you enjoy it,

Thank you AlaskaSue. I'd love to have an opportunity to photograph the Aurora from up North. We seldom see it this far South ;/.

Me too!!!

That is so beautiful. I wish I had a picture of it, poster size.

Thank you Rabbit and Sue! I do sell prints of my work, but I'm not sure how well this one 'd print out in a large size. There's a lot of lightening that I'd have to do and I think it would degrade the quality. If you're really interested in purchasing a print, I can proof this and see if I can't get it on paper. I have a 13x19 printer at my disposal ;).

I can see how the light or rather lack thereof could pose a challenge. Would love to know if it's possible! :-)

I don't think anyone can fathom what awaits there. We'll found out sooner or later, I suppose :).

Well, I got it brightened up some and on to paper :D. It looks good, though as I suspected it's a little darker than I'd hoped. The disadvantage to using a print on demand service like I do, is that I don't know what my customer will receive unless I first order a copy myself. I'm going to do that, and I'll report back with a quality assessment after I've received it. For those of you who liked this photo, here's a link to my astrophotography gallery on my website. Take a look if you'd like, it's mobile friendly!

Thanks Earshel! Here's hoping! :)
ETA: WOW! You have some beautiful stuff on your website!! :applaud:

Thank you very much, Sue :). I received the print from my website, and I'm impressed! I ordered it on metallic paper and I really love the way it turned out. I don't see any reason why this couldn't be printed up to 30x20. The 18x12 looks great. Attached you can see it matted and sleeved. If you're interested in purchasing a print, it is available on my website.

Thank you! I don't sell many prints...I imagine it's because of our local economy :). My mother and grandmother sure appreciate my prints, though, lol!
