Thanks for all the good links. I haven't listened to any podcasts for a couple of days and I'm hoping to have time to get to them when our rain starts on Thursday. Also hoping that rain doesn't bring rough weather and cause a power outage. If that happens, I won't be doing much of anything but maybe knitting by the light of a gloomy window. I'm nearly finished watching the Sherlock Holmes DVDs I got for Christmas and will start on a Twelfth Day of Christmas gift got from my brother and sister, which is the entire set of original Twilight Zone on DVD and also the complete set of the same show which was made in the 1980s.

Been getting a few things done. Yesterday the guy who mows for me came out and emptied four trashcans of spoiled chicken feed that was really old. He's big and he's strong and those cans each held 150 pounds of really nasty feed. He also moved some heavy blocks and some other things and now the rest of the work that will complete the whole chicken pen project can be finished by myself or maybe with a little help from my sister now and then.

Still no eggs, but in about six or seven weeks that will change without my having strung up a light. I have enough eggs from the store to last until then.
-----
EEK! current through the soil! Hadn't thought of that! I wonder if it helps that I'm using only raised containers and the drain hole is on the side, not on the bottom?

I just listened to IAF's last two podcasts. They were enough to help clear my head of the fog I've been in since I've been following the big Iran thread on the main page.

Gotta say I much prefer worrying about growing a garden than about watching it become something that glows in the dark!

I really don't worry about my garden glowing in the dark. Where I am, the biggest worry would probably be having to quickly adjust to being with out power, whether intermittently or entirely. Other than that, I'd probably be fine if I could stay warm through the winter and stay off the radar of hungry neighbors or "visitors".

You're doing much better than I am! I'm glued to the Iran thread, probably because I retired from DoD and grew up in a USMC family.

Thank to all who have been posting and keeping this thread running...I'll work harder at getting back to posting faithfully!

Martinhouse, we have a good chance of severe weather Friday and over 2 inches of rain. Rain is good, drama is not. I sure hope you aren't going to get that.

I just finished listening to a podcast from Deep South Bama with Mr. Tom. It is 58:10 minutes long but VERY interesting. It is about the 2019 dry bean harvest. He goes to Walmart and his other small town grocery and shows us the shelves, amount of stock and prices in both stores, plus the canned beans as an alternative, and then he goes back home and pulls up the reports he researched and spends a lot of time going over a lot of numbers and percentages concerning harvests in North America. It's pretty awful.

Some might consider this one too long and boring, but I was able to get some knitting done and am glad I spent the time to listen to the entire podcast. I think this information is very important and I'd bet the same information about other food crops, is as bad, if not worse. (Remember the beets and potatoes, the onions, all rotting and even freezing in the mud, and the empty shelves last summer where there should have been canned peas and beans?)

Connecting Charlemagne and the Vikings to Global Warming

January 8, 2020 by Robert

Conversely, global cooling leads to crop failure, the rise of disease, civilization breakdown and cease in trade
__________
Charlemagne, Vikings & Global Warming

Excerpts from Armstrong Economics

The rise of Charlemagne came 309.6 years from the fall of Rome in 476AD. What is never discussed in the history books is the correlation with weather. Both the rise of the Vikings and the Franks coincided with the Medieval Warm Period (800–1300) and ended with the start of the Little Ice Age (about 1250–1850). It was at the end of this Global Warming period that we find the reappearance of gold coinage. The climate directly influenced the rise and fall of the Vikings. Moreover, we now know that they established a settlement for a while in America about 500 years before Columbus.

Climate was warm and fairly stable pre-180AD which reduced the threat of volcanic winters. There was an exceptionally low level of volcanic activity which also prevailed from c. 40BC to 150AD. We have similarly experienced post-1850 in modern times a warming period with low volcanic activity.

In central Greenland, temperatures became quite warm from c. 20BC to c. 75AD. Global Cooling began in Greenland post 75AD producing a gradual relatively cool period from about c. 100 to c. 270AD. As climate began to turn colder in the northern regions of Europe, this prompted the barbarian invasions into Southern Europe which was dominated by the Roman Empire. Indeed, it was Emperor Aurelian (270-275AD) who had to build the wall around Rome for the first time. There is a lot of climate evidence that confirms the rise of the Roman Empire which peaked 180AD, coincided with a Global Warming period which peaked about 150AD.(1)

Clearly, the climate was turning much colder inspiring the barbarian invasions from the north. As the solar activity turned down, volcanic activity began to rise. The Byzantine historian Procopius wrote: “For the sun gave forth its light without brightness, like the moon, during the whole year.” Temperatures in the summer plummeted creating the coldest decade in the past 2300 years. Snow fell as far east as China during the summer causing starvation as crops failed. The Irish chronicles recorded that “a failure of bread from the years 536–539” took place.

The mysterious clouds which engulfed the world contributed to the era being called the Dark Ages in Western Europe. From a Swiss glacier, ice core samples were obtained at the Climate Change Institute of The University of Maine. They determined that a cataclysmic volcanic eruption in Iceland spewed ash across the Northern Hemisphere during early in 536AD. Two other massive eruptions followed in subsequent years during 540AD and again during 547AD. What appears to have been three successive major volcanic eruptions, the Dark Ages entered a volcanic winter which plunged Europe into famine which lasted for nearly 100 years into 640AD. This was also solar minimum which seems to correlate to an increase in volcanic activity.

With famine comes lower nutrition leaving the people more susceptible to disease. It appears that following the 546AD eruption, we then see the Justinian Plague (541-542AD) which was a bubonic plague… This plague spread rapidly throughout the Empire wiping out one-third to one-half of the entire population of the Eastern Roman Empire.

Therefore, because of Global Cooling, crops fail and disease rises. Civilization breaks down and trade ceases. The major solar cycle is about 300 years. Therefore, the rise of Charlemagne came 309.6 years from the fall of Rome in 476AD and it was the fall of Rome which corresponded to the climate turning colder post-150AD.

As the climate warmed, the Vikings also grew in power and were able to explore even reaching America. Their invasion of England was like the barbarians invading Rome….

Charlemagne’s empire indeed broke apart much as was the case with the collapse of Alexander the Great’s Empire which was divided among his generals. Even NASA is forecasting that the next solar cycle will be the lowest in hundreds of years. If we see the continued rise in volcanic activity, then there is a serious threat of a prolonged Global Cooling.

Viking-era runestone may reflect fears of a climate disaster
The writing on a famous Viking-era runestone may reflect fears of an approaching climate disaster in 9th century Scandinavia, according to new research by a team of Swedish academics
By BY DAVID KEYTON Associated Press
9 January 2020

Stockholm -- The writing on a famous Viking-era runestone may reflect fears of an approaching climate disaster in 9th century Scandinavia, according to new research by a team of Swedish academics.

The Rok stone, located near Lake Vattern in central Sweden, carries what is believed to be the longest known runic inscription in the world. It consists of more than 700 runes, the letters of old Germanic language alphabets.

Researchers have long thought the 5-ton, roughly 2.5-meter (8-feet) tall Rok stone was raised as a memorial to a dead son and the writing on it related heroic tales of Viking kings and the battles they fought.

But four Swedish academics who teamed up to interpret the inscription postulated in a paper published this week that several passages dealt with a natural threat, not a military battle.

“We believe it talks about a cosmic balance,” University of Goteburg Professor Per Holmberg, who led the study, said.

“Maybe we’ve focused too much on the importance of military power, but maybe the religious power to keep the cosmos together was more important.” Holmberg added.

A reference on the stone to the “death of the sun nine generations ago” could refer to the extreme climate cooling in the years 535-536 that caused worldwide crop failures and famine.

“The powerful elite of the Viking Age saw themselves as guarantors for good harvests,” Olof Sundqvist, a professor of religious history at Stockholm University, said. “They were the leaders of the cult that held together the fragile balance between light and darkness."

Norse mythology describes a Fimbulwinter, or brutal winter, preceding the end of the world. In the 9th century there were reasons for the Vikings to fear one was coming and wipe out all life on Earth, according to Bo Graslund, an archaeology professor at Uppsala University, said.

“Before the Rok runestone was erected, a number of events occurred which must have seemed extremely ominous: a powerful solar storm colored the sky in dramatic shades of red, crop yields suffered from an extremely cold summer, and later a solar eclipse occurred just after sunrise. Graslund said.

"Even one of these events would have been enough to raise fears of another Fimbulwinter.”

Volcanoes Melting West Antarctic Glaciers, Not Global Warming

January 9, 2020 by Robert

Not only are volcanoes melting the ice in Antarctica, previous studies show that underwater volcanoes (not humans) are melting ice in the Arctic.

______________

“Three new research studies confirm that geothermal heat flow, not man-made global warming, is the dominant cause of West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) melting,” writes geologist James Edward Kamis.
Antarctic-Ice-Sheet-Thickness-Change-Kamis-768x431.png

Outlined in red is West Antarctica’s subglacial Marie Byrd bedrock mantle plume “hotspot”. Red shading shows West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) thinning from 1992 to 2017 (credit research study to NASA, mantle plume outline by J. Kamis).

(1) One study, entitled “Evidence of an active volcanic heat source beneath the Pine Island Glacier“, proves that the Pine Island Glacier of West Antarctica is melting and retreating from geothermal heat from a currently active subglacial volcano, not man-made global warming. See National Science Foundation’s press release here.

“Our finding of a substantial heat source beneath a major WAIS glacier highlights the need to understand subglacial volcanism, its interaction with the marine margins and its potential role in the future stability of the WAIS,” the researchers write in the Nature Communications article.

They also note that volcanic activity could be increasing the rate of collapse of the Thwaites Glacier, which is adjacent to the Pine Island Glacier.

(2) A different study entitled “Bedrock in West Antarctica rising at a surprisingly rapid rate” shows that the Marie Byrd bedrock mantle plume “hotspot” region is rising rapidly and forming an extensive high elevation dome.

Kamis contends that the high elevation rise rate of this plume region is the result of geothermal bottom melting of the ice column and upward bulging of the bedrock, not post-glacial rebound.

Additional information concerning the geologically active Marie Byrd bedrock mantle plume “hotspot” and the giant deep-earth fault that fuels this plume and more than a 100 subglacial volcanoes can be found at these previous Climate Change Dispatch articles (see here, here, here, here, and here).

(3) Yet a third study, entitled New study suggests surprising wrinkle in the history of West Antarctic Ice Sheet”, proves that the West Antarctic Ice Sheet(WAIS) significantly melted and retreated 10,000 years ago, then quickly recovered to its full extent.

This is an event that obviously pre-dates human involvement. Additionally, neither this study or other previous studies have found evidence that the giant East Antarctic Ice Sheet (EAIS) retreated during the same ancient time frame.

This strongly indicates that ancient ice melting of the WAIS is almost certainly related to underlying bedrock geothermal heat flow from geographically specific geological features and not worldwide atmospheric global warming.

It’s difficult, if not impossible, for atmospheric warming to significantly melt the WAIS while not melting the adjacent EAIS.

“By combining the data and conclusions of three brand new research studies with very telling older research studies and previous CCD articles, it becomes very clear that melting of West Antarctica’s Ice Sheet is the result of bedrock geothermal heat flow, not atmospheric global warming,” Kamis concludes.

“Climate scientists strongly advocating the theory of the global warming to explain the WAIS melting should broaden their research and analyzation process to include the impact of geological forces, like subglacial volcanoes.”

“It’s time for all of us to help these well-intentioned scientists achieve this goal.”

Younger Dryas — Rewind and Repeat

January 10, 2020 Poppalloff

Are you prepared for America and Europe going off-line…?

If the historical data is anything to go by, magnetic reversals/excursions often lead to large-level extinction events. Mounting evidence also suggests that our sun micro-novas every 12,000 years, or thereabouts, and that these two events are linked. Earth’s temperature has been on a downward trend since the sharp-warming that followed the end of the Younger Dryas, indicating that this coming Grand Solar Minimum could steer us back into a major glaciation period, and another extinction event.

In their 2014 paper, a group of scientists which included UC Santa Barbara’s James Kennett, posited that a comet collision with Earth played a major role in the extinction. Their hypothesis suggests that a cosmic-impact-event caused the Younger Dryas period of global cooling close to 12,800 years ago. This cosmic impact resulted in abrupt environmental stress and degradation that contributed to the extinction of most large animal species then inhabiting the Americas. According to Kennett, the catastrophic impact and the subsequent climate change also led to the disappearance of the prehistoric Clovis culture, known for its big game hunting, and to human population decline.

Image result for younger dryas

In a new study published this week in the Journal of Geology, Kennett and an international group of scientists have focused on the character and distribution of nano-diamonds, one type of material produced during such an extra-terrestrial collision. The researchers found an abundance of these tiny diamonds distributed over 50 million square kilometers across the Northern Hemisphere at the Younger Dryas boundary (YDB). This thin, carbon-rich layer is often visible as a thin black line a few meters below the surface.

Kennett and investigators from 21 universities in six countries investigated nano-diamonds at 32 sites in 11 countries across North America, Europe and the Middle East. Two of the sites are just across the Santa Barbara Channel from UCSB: one at Arlington Canyon on Santa Rosa Island, the other at Daisy Cave on San Miguel Island.

“We conclusively have identified a thin layer over three continents, particularly in North America and Western Europe, that contain a rich assemblage of nano-diamonds, the production of which can be explained only by cosmic impact,” Kennett said. “We have also found YDB glassy and metallic materials formed at temperatures in excess of 2200 degrees Celsius, which could not have resulted from wildfires, volcanism or meteoritic flux, but only from cosmic impact.”

image-11.png

However, the work of Ben Davidson from SuspiciousObservers and Doug Vogt of the Diehold Foundation would suggest that instead of a comet impact, this event was the result of a micro-nova blast from the Sun that incinerated the boreal forests of Australia and much of North America and Europe. The tell-tale signature of nano-diamonds being identical to both scenarios.

MAMMALIAN EXTINCTIONS IN THE LATE PLEISTOCENE OF NORTHERN EURASIA AND NORTH AMERICA

In his 1991 paper, Anthony J. Stuart PhD, DSc, states that the ‘mass extinctions’ at the end of the Pleistocene were unique –for both the Pleistocene as well as earlier-on in the geological record– in that the species lost were nearly all large terrestrial mammals. Although a global phenomenon, late Pleistocene extinctions were most severe in North America, South America and Australia, and moderate in northern Eurasia (Europe plus Soviet Asia). In Africa, where nearly all the late Pleistocene ‘megafauna’ survives to the present day, losses were slight.

Ruling out epidemic disease or cosmic catastrophe, the contending hypotheses to explain late Pleistocene extinctions are: (a) failure to adapt to climatic/environmental change; and (b) extermination by human hunters (‘prehistoric overkill’).

This review focuses on extinctions in northern Eurasia (mainly Europe) in comparison with North America. In addition to reviewing the faunal evidence, the highly relevant environmental and archaeological backgrounds are summarized. The latest survival dates of extinct species are estimated from stratigraphic occurrences of fossil remains, radiocarbon dates, or association with archaeological industries.

image-12.png

The Middle and Upper Pleistocene (ca. 700000–10000 BP) in northern Eurasia and North America was a time of constantly changing climate, ranging from phases of extensive glaciation in cold stages, to temperate periods (interglacials). In the Late glacial (ca. 15000–10000 BP), during which most extinctions occurred, there was a major reorganization of vegetation, mainly involving the replacement of open vegetation by forests. These changes were more profound than earlier in the Last Cold Stage, but similar in nature to vegetational changes that took place at previous cold stage/ interglacial transitions.

MAGNETIC POLE REVERSALS/EXCURSIONS

Our poles haven’t fully switched places (a magnetic REVERSAL) in some 780,000 years. Although they have been a lot more restless in the distant past, reversing every 200,000 years or so. There have also been prolonged periods when the poles are thought to have largely stayed put, such as a 40-million-year interlude during the Jurassic period.

Magnetic EXCURSIONS are thought to occur roughly every 12,500 years, and never result in a full/sustained reversal, but instead see Earth’s North and South magnetic poles go on a wander (far more than usual). The magnetic poles do still have the capability to “flip” entirely during an excursion, although the switch only lasts for a comparatively puny period (even as short as a few hundred years) before the poles snap back and “normality” is resumed.

The last one —the Gothenburg Magnetic Excursion— in a broad sense ranges from 13,750 to 12,350 years BP, and ends with the temporary Gothenburg Magnetic Flip/Reversal at 12,400−12,350 years BP (= the Fjärås Stadial in southern Scandinavia) with an equatorial VGP position in the central Pacific. The Gothenburg Magnetic Flip is recorded in five closely dated and mutually correlated cores in Sweden. In all five cores, the inclination is completely reversed in the layer representing the Fjärås Stadial dated at 12,400−12,350 years BP. The cores were taken 160 km apart and represent both marine and lacustrine environments. The Gothenburg Magnetic Flip represents the shortest excursion and the most rapid polar change known at present. It is also hitherto the far best-dated paleomagnetic event. The Gothenburg Magnetic Excursion, and subsequent temporary reversal, are proposed as a standard magnetostatigraphic unit.

Both magnetic reversals and excursions have been linked to violent and sharp climatic changes, and even to mass extinction events.

However, the fossil record shows no drastic changes in plant or animal life during our last full reversal 780,000 years ago (the Brunhes-Matuyama reversal). Deep ocean sediment cores from this period also indicate no changes in glacial activity, based on the amount of oxygen isotopes in the cores. This is also proof that a polarity reversal did not affect the rotational axis of the Earth, as the planet’s rotation axis tilt has a significant effect on climate and glaciation and any change would be evident in the glacial record. But then proxy data from a period known as the Ediacaran, which occurred some 550 to 560 million years ago, indicates mass die-offs did coincide with pole shifts. Studies suggest that the flip-flopping magnetic field of the Ediacaran was extremely weak, which might have exposed early life on Earth to punishing surface conditions. To use Star Trek speak, our shields came down and allowed heavy bombardments of cosmic and other radiation to rain down on the surface of the Earth. Perhaps this excess exposure killed off the soft and squishy Ediacaran critters, many of which couldn’t move to shelter from the sun — a similar set of conditions to these may-well be ahead of us, as the magnetosphere continues collapse in strength as the current excursion/reversal (no way to tell which it is yet) progresses.

So, with the Kassandra-like accuracy of Valentina Zarkova’s predictions concerning the imminent and dramatic cooling of the Northern Hemisphere, coupled with Ben Davidson’s take on the Sun’s power-down and the micro-nova cycle, could China know something that we can only guess at?

I know, I know.

Silly me.

“Shut up and pay your taxes.”

268 EXHALATIONS DETECTED AT MEXICO’S POPOCATÉPETL VOLCANO IN JUST 24 HOURS — THE LARGEST OF WHICH SENDS ASH 37,000 FEET (11.3 KM) A.S.L.

January 10, 2020 Cap Allon

Multiple strong eruptions have taken place at Mexico’s Popocatépetl volcano over the past 24 hours, continuing the stratovolcano’s powerful uptick over the past 12-or-so months.

According to the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington, the largest eruption fired a thick column of ash to an estimated 37,000 feet (11.3 km) above sea level, and comfortably into the stratosphere.

Particulates ejected to altitudes above 32,800 feet (10 km) have a direct cooling effect on the planet.

Within a 24 hour window, the Popocatépetl volcano monitoring network detected 268 exhalations, 90 minutes of tremors, and 3 volcano-tectonic earthquakes.

Social media was quickly jammed with amazing footage:

TxGal, so far I'm fine. Am hearing that bad stuff is heading my way, but I'm still not seeing much on the radar map. Guess I'll find out when it gets here. I've done what little I can do to get ready. A basement is the ONLY thing I miss about living in Minnesota!

If the tornado that's west of me passes me by, I'll be grateful if I'm only without power. I can find a way to deal with that as long as I have a roof over my head, especially if the roof is intact!

Just got another alert on my Weather Radio and it sounds like the storm is almost on me, but that it will just skim across me and be mostly to the north. Not wishing ill to anyone living north of me, but I hope it doesn't move more southward.

If a tornado hits my house I will have the choice of moving into an apartment and being broke all the time or maybe I could just tell my hens to move over and make room for me!

Ugh, I totally feel your pain! I truly miss our basements in VA. The storm line is about an hr away from us, coming from the southwest. We've got a fair amount of rain coming in ahead of it. What's coming up from San Antonio just looks nasty. I'm hoping that is loses a bit of steam...I don't want to jinx us, but it looks like it is. Now I'll get walloped just for saying that. I have the bathroom all set up in case we have to hunker down in there...again....

Hang in there, and we will, too!!

We Live in interesting times. If you have not noticed it is becoming more and more expensive just to eat and feed a family. That is the reason that I started this blog in the first place. Its all about surviving the Super Grand Solar Minimum. In coming blogs I will be covering the following:

  • How to start a Ruth Stout garden bed.
  • Many ways of growing in containers.
  • How to grow in your home.
  • Growing food in your patio or open area in an apartment.
  • Seeds and where to get them.
  • Starting vegetable plants.
  • Growing potatoes and sweet potatoes.
  • Growing microgreens.
  • Simple hydroponic growing systems.
  • Ideas on having a community garden.
  • Long term storage foods.
  • Many more ideas and techniques on food and feeding a family.

The blog author is a microgreen grower (commercial grower) but I live on a farm, and we do have a community garden. Ya notice that word community? I am 76 years old, and I need a community. So will you eventually, and guess what, it will probably be too late at that point. Now is the time to start and don't wait for EVENTUALLY. Eventually is usually a bad mother!

Suggestion:

If you are really desperate for a place to grow, form a small community. Then find some people that are perhaps too old to actually get out there and work in a garden. Offer to grow on their property and then share what you produce with them for the use of their land. This option could also be on land that is not used. Find some property that belongs to the city or county that has available water and approach them. Find some land that you can pay the taxes on and own and use.

Another Idea if you have no land:

Form a community. Find some land out in the country that has water. Rent say an acre or less. Make sure that the contract to rent the land is for 5 or more years. Put money in an account or cash to pay for a couple years of rent. You and your community are on your way. Just play nice with the members and make sure everyone understands their obligations. Have an "Oh Crap" this is too hard option and look for a replacement. Keep the money they may have invested.

So what is on my mind?

Well that one brain cell is being overwhelmed by thoughts of this coming spring and the community garden we are building. Yes it's a work in progress as it will not just magically popup out there in the spring. I have most of my seeds in hand or are on order. The wonderful trees around here gave up their nutrient filled gift by shedding all their leafs on the ground. It's a blessing, as all we have to do is collect them which we are in the process of doing. We rake up the leafs onto a plastic tarp and then pull then into a large pile in the garden. The horses and chickens are doing their part with the poop side of things. My neighbor brings a large trailer of horse poop and hay every two weeks. There is no end in sight of this resource.

I can tell you one thing, and that is you will never need commercial fertilizer if you compost what I have just mentioned above.

This year my grand children are part of the growing. It will be their responsibility to make a list of what we will grow, and how we will start as in seeds directly planted or if we will need to grow starts. Also how deep and how close. They will then diagram where we will plant in the garden. Then it will be on to starting our starts.

How can anyone ever know how to grow food if they were not taught? This applies to adults as well. I suspect that many of our young people and children have NO idea how to grow food, as it all came from the grocery store. If you think about it, if you don't grow your own, you are a slave to the grocery stores and big corporations that really don't have your interest at heart.

They like the fact that you are a food slave.

I have just added the ability to follow this blog, so just sign up as a follower and you will be emailed every time there is a new post.

OK here is another suggestion. If you don't like giving out your email address then create a junk one on one of the many free email places on the web. Just search for free email. Some of these are also encrypted.

Its not too late to get started even if its a very small choice. There are hundreds of ways to start a garden and grow food.
Here is my recommendation
on how to do it:

Get some seed and plants AND JUST START.
There are so many things to grow. You can follow my many coming blogs on the subject.
My next blog will be on starting a Ruth Stout garden and what you can do until you are ready to plant in it now and in the spring.

For your homework:

Go to YouTube and search for Ruth Stout garden and watch a few. Use the internet now while you can to educate yourself and many things that can be used to become self sustaining. As always, it's a choice and yes there is probably beer and pizza in the refrigerator, so be happy and don't worry?

Cheers from Central Texas where we have had a cool but nice fall so far.

A God Clock? Sea and Surface Temperatures, Major Earthquakes, Volcano Eruptions, Droughts, Extreme Temperatures, Famine, Flooding, Wildfires and Cyclones suddenly intensified in the late 50s!

Weather changes constantly, scientists tell us our climate changes in repeated cycles and these changes can provide big changes for people living on earth. There is no doubt, our climate is changing, it's getting warmer, it's also getting colder and wetter in many places and dryer in others but is it man causing climate change or is it something else?

According to izzit.org, around 200 BC and 600 AD, there was Roman warming. Around AD 440 and 900, Dark Ages cooling. Around 900 to 1300, we had Medieval warming. Followed by "The Little Ice-Age," 1300 to 1850, phases 1 and 2. Around 1850 to present is the modern warming, which by the way, many scientists claim the 1930s were hotter than now. (This period is what many people are calling global warming).

Graph izzt.org

The Sun's magnetic field experiences regular cycles and when sunspot activity changes on the Sun, Earth's weather and temperatures change too. Variations in radiation from the Sun would largely contribute to temperature and weather changes here on Earth, see graph left. We are told it's Carbon Dioxide, human-driven CO2 that is causing the climate to change but is that the real reason?

Published papers, clearly show it is always temperature which rises first by at least several hundred years and then the carbon dioxide responds. For instance, the warming of Greenland has been going on since 1850, long before human-driven CO2 could have been an influence. There is a consistent warming pattern since 1850.

The records of temperature and CO2 over the past 650,000 years indicate that Earth's temperature always rises first, followed by a rise in Carbon Dioxide.

Graph izzit.org

Is man really melting the ice-caps? Is man causing the crippling droughts around the world, the record flooding, heat, cold and snow-fall? Or is it something much more powerful, our Sun?

Some scientists have taken the solar cycle influence on the Earth's climate even further, one of these scientists, Mr Douglas Vogt claims our Sun "Novas," every 12,068 years, causing catastrophe not only on Earth but in the whole Solar System. He writes on his own Diehold Foundation "We believe we can determine what side of the earth will be facing the sun when it novas during the next geomagnetic reversal (polar reversal)." "This will be done by collecting sediment samples from around the world to look for the small glass beads (.1-1 mm) thrown off by the nova." "These are the same glass beads that were found on the Moon." (and photographed on Mars, added by Gary Walton)

Green glass beads found on the Moon and also the Earth. Other colours and shapes were found on both but all came from the Sun when it Novaed, according to Douglas Vogt.

Mr Douglas Vogt claims we are being lied to by the CIA and other organisations who want us to believe climate change is caused by humans with overuse of Carbon Dioxide.

Another scientist Thomas Gold wrote in 1969 when he observed the pictures of tiny glass beads and rocks with a melted glaze found on the moon, wrote, The phenomenon was not caused by a Sun-flare but rather, a minor Nova-like burst from our Sun. This claim can be found in Science, Vol 168, (Sept 26th 1969) page: 1345. Mr Douglas Vogt believes the next Nova-like burst from our Sun will be in 2046.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957 the Sun had 503 sun-spots, this crazy number of sun-spots lasted for 5 days, the Sun was wild, which scared the science community at the time, see graph below, taken from the Douglas Vogt video

The real reason for Climate Change or Global Warming is shown in the graph above, the red lines are the Gliessberg sunspot solar cycles, going all the way back to 1867. Look what happens on Christmas Eve 1957 the solar cycle lines shoot easily to its highest peak since 1867. Then, check the blue line, the blue line is sea surface temperatures, it begins to rise, as does the green line, which is the Mean surface temperature. Ladies and gentlemen, if I was to tell you, major earthquakes, volcano eruptions, floods, cyclones and natural disasters all mirror the graph above and all from relatively the same time as the graph above you would come to the conclusion of a Devine intervention, A God Clock, if you like! And it started counting down on Christmas Eve, 1957.

According to Royal Observatory of Belgium, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 1957, our star had a record number, 503 sunspots, see chart section below.

From then on, Sea and Surface Temperatures, Major Earthquakes, Volcano Eruptions, Droughts, Extreme Temperatures, Famine, Flooding, Wildfires and Cyclones suddenly intensified and that data is unquestionable, take a look below at some graphs but please, don't take my word for it, do some research yourself.

This is a graph I made in 2014, I made the graph from the USGS archives at the time, as you can see, at the end of the 50s, the beginning of the 60s the graph suddenly spikes, like the one from Douglas Vogt's video! Major quakes took off at around the same time as sea temperatures and mean surface temperatures, it's a fact.

It is the same with volcano eruptions, granted the graph shows a steady climb but look closely at around the 1954 mark, there is a sudden spike, just like the other graphs!

Every graph, they all provide the same data. Wikipedia Do these graphs prove the end of this system of things, which began at the end of the 50s? And if so will 2046 be the year our Sun Micro-Novas and if so, what can we expect?

Once again, another graph, this one from me using USGS archive data, the graph jumps in the late 50s

Another video from Douglas Vogt's series, this graph showing Tornado increase in the U.S. after the 1957/58 Solar Maximum spike.

Another video from Douglas Vogt's series, this graph showing Volcano Activity increase since the 1957/58 Solar Maximum spike.

History of global temperature since the mid-nineteenth century through 2018 compared to the 1981-2010 average from four analysis teams: NOAA (red), NASA (tan), the University of East Anglia (pink), and the Japan Meteorological Agency (orange). In the background is an image of Earth on August 3, 2018, from NOAA's DSCOVR satellite.

I have often wondered when reading the Bible about a great earthquake which is prophesied to come before the Great Day Of The Lord. The earthquake is so great it will move every mountain and every island from its place. Our sun will become as black as sackcloth, the moon will turn blood red, (the moon would be red because it would be melting!) and the stars of the heavens will fall to earth and the heaven will depart as a scroll being rolled up. The Kings of the earth, high officials, military commanders and everyone else to hide in caves, saying to the mountains and to the rocks.

This earthquake is mentioned many times in the Bible and I always pondered on the size of such an earthquake, what force could produce something like this? What force could move every mountain and every island on our planet?

An explanation found?

Yesterday, I stumbled on a book called The Adam and Eve Story by Chan Thomas, I couldn't put the book down it was brilliant. In the book, Mr Thomas explains in specific detail a cataclysmic event which describes the great earthquake in the Bible. But, believe me, reading further is NOT for the faint-hearted.

Mr Thomas book begins: With a rumble so low to be inaudible, growing throbbing, then fuming into a roar, the earthquake starts...only it's not like any other earthquake in recorded history.

In California, the mountains shake like ferns in a breeze, The mighty Pacific rears back and piles up into a mountain of seawater two miles high, then starts its race eastward.

With the force of a thousand armies the wind attacks, ripping, shredding everything in its supersonic bombardment. The unbelievable mountain of Pacific seawater follows the wind eastward, burying Los Angeles and San Fransisco as if they were grains of sand.

Nothing but nothing can stop the relentless, overwhelming onslaught of water and wind.

Across the continent, the thousand mph wind wreaks its hell its unholy vengeance everywhere. Every living thing is ripped into shreds while being blown across the countryside and more earthquakes leave nowhere untouched. In many places, the earth's molten sublayer breaks through and spread a sea of white-hot liquid fire to add to the holocaust. Within three hours the fantastic wall of seawater moves across the continent, burying the wind ravage land under two miles of seething water. coast to coast.

In a fraction of a day, all vestiges of civilisation have gone and the great cities of the U.S. are nothing more than legends. Barely a stone is left where earlier millions had walked.

North America is not alone, Central America suffers the same cannonade, wind, earth-fire and inundation.

South America finds the Andes not high enough to stop the cataclysmic pounded out by nature in her berserk rage. In less than a day Equador, Peru and Western Brasil are shaken madly by the devastating earthquake. The Andes are piled higher and higher by the Pacific's supersonic onslaught as it surges itself over the mountains. The entire continent is burned by molten-earth fire, buried under cubic miles of violent seas and then turned into a freezing hell. Everything freezes, man, beast, plant and mud are all rock hard in less than four hours.

Europe can't escape the onslaught, the raging Atlantic piles higher and higher on its self following the screeching wind eastward. The mighty Alps, Pyrenees and Urals are shaken then heaved even higher when the wall of water strikes.

This is the great earthquake mentioned in the Bible!

The book goes on to describe what happens to the rest of the world as the supersonic wind and wall of water hits the rest of the planet...

The CIA would later declassify the book in part and release a "sanitized copy" approved for release in 2013/06/24. What was in the book that would have the CIA declassify it and release its own version of a dumbed-down version of events debunked by scientists around the world? Full story

What could cause the earthquake described by Chan Thomas and The Bible? A solar outburst, a micronova, a blast of solar wind so strong as to make the earth flip, see explanation above. According to the experts, these "flips" happen roughly every 12,000 years and one expert, Douglas Vogt claims the next flip will happen in 2046. (End Times!)

I think that could be the scariest article on this entire thread. At least we wouldn’t have to worry about paying anymore taxes.

I hope everyone made it safely through the storms last evening.

That article sure does make a person think. He provided a link to the full Adam and Eve story....I'm going to have to read that in its entirety.

I just bookmarked the Adam and Eve Story but now I have to figure out how to make the text lots bigger, cuz there's no way I could read that tiny print even with a magnifying glass!

I hate reading long things on the computer screen, but I haven't had a printer in years and don't really want one, so If I want to read this I'll just have to put up with the aching neck and the screaming headache until I can plow through it. Ugh!

Delta, thank you. I'll try that when I'm ready to read that book. Now I need to find out how many pages to it! MAybe I'll wear out my mouse scrolling down page after page! Maybe.

Will this change the font on my whole computer or just the page I'm on to read?

This might have been a VEI 6, I need to check - I think it's a 5:

High-Level Eruption at Taal Volcano, Philippines — Ash fired 55,000 ft (16.7 km) and into the Stratosphere — Direct Cooling Effect

January 12, 2020 Cap Allon

A high-level stratospheric eruption has just been recorded at Taal Volcano, the Philippines today, January 12, 2019 — the first eruption of any sort since 1977 (solar minimum of weak solar cycle 20).

A thick column of volcanic ash has been fired to an altitude of 55,000 ft (16.7 km) above sea level, according to data released by the Tokyo Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC).

Particulates ejected to altitudes above 32,800 feet (10 km) –and into the stratosphere– often linger, where they have a direct cooling effect on the planet.

PHIVOLCS has released a statement strongly recommending Taal Volcano Island, as well as the high-risk barangays of Agoncillo and Laurel, be evacuated ASAP. The public is also reminded that the entire Volcano Island is in a Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), meaning entry is currently prohibited.

In addition, communities around the Taal Lake shore are advised to take precautionary measures and be vigilant of possible lakewater disturbances related to the ongoing unrest.

Taal’s eruptive history is littered with VEI 4 eruptions, the most recent coming in 1965.

And a monster VEI 6 looks a possibility given the volcano’s distant past.

History repeats, based-largely on the cycles of the sun…

Compare 1911’s powerful eruption (see below tweet) to that of today’s, and then see how neatly solar cycle 14, and subsequent minimum, matches to the modern solar cycle 24 (see below sunspot graph):

Earth’s climate, like most other things, is cyclic — never linear.

Stay tuned for updates.

David DuByne at Adapt 2030 will likely do a podcast mentioning this eruption and its cooling effects. Guessing the Grand Solar Minimum News and Oppenheimer Ranch Project will, as well.

ETA: This one may be large enough to meet DuByne's criteria warranting a stock-up run to the grocery story (due to the climate effects on growing crops) - does everyone remember that?!
