At least three countries.
West Coast, East Coast (because while they share political ideology they will not share power), And South Coast (because you can't really have a country without a coastline)

...I have never heard the words "Chilling" and "BC" together in the same sentence, but after reading that, I'm starting to wonder.

The west coast and east coast liberal state need their own country and let them buy food and fuel from mid-America....

Texican....

I'm curious as to the last time in history that a primarily agricultural region strongly dominated other, more heavily populated regions that consumed their goods (and usually included the ports that shipped their stuff).

Maybe, maybe not. I'm reminded of President George Washington's Vision/Prophecy. It was reported he envisioned American cities burning and destroyed. These cities were to be rebuilt by citizens from the rural areas of the country.

As obsolete, undermaintained, fragile and unprotected much of the infrastructure in and supporting US cities is, it surprises me they haven't failed due to neglect, corruption and incompetence.

The Oroville Dam is just one blatant example.

"BC" has a history of many years of delving into the political commentary...
Oh, that's true, but it's never been ominous before. I've heard a LOT of words to describe BC...comfortable, easy, lazy, puerile, ham-fisted...but never, ever have I heard it referred to as "chilling" with any kind of accuracy.

I make a point of almost never posting anything political on Facebook but I put this one up, it should give close friends on both sides of the "discussion" pause for thought and if they rant at me - too bad.

True. Think of when the Raj split post-WWII into first India and the two Pakistans, then the latter bloodily split into just Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Pride comes before the fall.....Pride month ended.
If I had the map and pen, with a straight edge... I'd start in the Carolina's somewhere, and go west.....then turn it up rather quickly, go aways...and then go back west, below Detroit, Chicago, Dubuque (maybe they will get their act together by then) go all the way to California, with a slight move upwards into the redoubt area. Like all those states...
Then cut out sin city and move downward leaving them Pheonix back down toward Texas to the Gulf. Then I'd call it a country. We'd have two of our four sides with water front, port front if you will. Denver would have to capitulate or die. We would not give up Colorado, it's within our boundaries. We would own most the land mass at this point. I'd like Minnesota, but I don't think the left would give it up easily.... and it is hardly worth fighting for, unless Wisconsin wanted to. Just saying, there's a lot of prime country we would lose that is outside the city's. But, it would be a good tradeoff, given those city's.... pipe dreaming, without the pipe.

Deaths (by starvation, disease, or more direct methods), flight, and expulsions will eventually dramatically rationalize the boundaries of the resulting new countries that together made up the old U.S.A.

the great lakes could be another "country" since they have ports but would have to include the canal system

The same way Russia has always had access between the Black Sea and the Med via the Bosporus and Dardanelles in Turkey, or Spain, Italy, Austria, etc. has always had access between the Med and Atlantic through the Straits of Gibraltar? /s
