Prep Genrl Weekly Prep Thread: April23-29

I didn’t see a thread for the week so decided to start one since I have a few minutes before the family starts coming in.
For preps this week, one thing I’ll be doing is canning some turkey. I have 4 breast thawing in the basement fridge that hopefully I’ll get done tomorrow.

Not much going on this week. Keeping plants and animals alive is the biggest. DH has turkey eggs in the incubator, so we'll see how that goes. I hate turkeys - would so much rather have chickens, but I understand his rationale (having them keeps the wild ones around). it's still a little chilly here to plant, so we are working on organizing and cleaning.

My only prep plan this week is to can more ground beef. I don't know what day, yet. I guess I need to go ahead and put it in the fridge to thaw.
Was hoping to get our gardens planted this week, too, but we're expecting a slight chance of frost tonight. Only in the 60's and low 70's for the foreseeable future. That's still too cold to warm the soil to our liking. Only 58 for our high today. I have all our seed starts and bought plants outside on the back deck. I need to bring those in for tonight, at least.
