Has No Life - Lives on TB
I've been catching up on housework. Then I went out to cut the pieces, including binding, for two more nightshirts.

Son was given a choice today between the nightshirt and one of his tubes. He picked the nightshirt. I'm going to test it a few more times but if he prefers the nightshirts then I'll make him a variety to wear at home. And it gives me some ideas for in public clothing that won't become part of the sensory overload.

I am going to see about doing flat enclosed seams for him. I think that might help on the heavier fabrics. I know on his tubes, he would turn them seams out.

But I toasted my back. So the balance of today is likely going to be finishing the bag that's on the loom and making the binding tape for the nightshirts. I can do that while seated in a comfortable chair with a heat pack.

Moldy, one thing I do differently than I've seen in the videos is that I leave a long tail that I start weaving through after I get the first couple of layers done. And I start pulling it together to the center. Once I have the center nice and tight, I knot it and trim the tail. That lets me put a small bottle of water and the yarn in the center while I continue. The water provided a nice tension and that keeps the cats from trying to grab the yarn.

I like the idea of "salting books with a bit of cash" to keep kids from using a dumpster!! I have so many books on how-to (various things), sewing supplies, canning equipment and genealogy information that I know my youngest will trash if her sister isn't here to stop her. It makes me feel ill to think so much information and equipment could be tossed into the trash when potential SHTF seems to be looming closer and closer and the need for those will become essential for survival. Fact is, if I'm gone, then it's out of my control which I guess we all have to accept.

I once saw a recipe for home made grape nuts. You might check on the internet.
Homemade Grape Nuts
Homemade Grape Nuts
6 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups buttermilk (2/3 cup dry milk, 2 cups water, 2 teaspoons vinegar or lemon juice and let sit for 5 minutes)
