PLAY Advice needed on juicer

I am thinking of buying a juicer, but fear it may be a waste of time, has anyone on the forum got any experience of using one, what makes/models are the best, how effective are they, do they need a lot of cleaning etc etc

Is it more expensive buying the fruit than ready made fresh juice.

Thanks

Juicers make wonderfully delicious juice. Even from fruits and veggies you might not normally like. Be forewarned, fresh juice doesn't look like store-bought juice. Many times the color is horrendous, but oh, so delicious. I have one I purchased from QVC years ago and it's a boogerboo to clean up; therefore, I don't use it as much as I should. It's worth it to find a brand with a good track-record for easier clean-up and longevity.

I've had 2 top of the line juicers. I now have a Jack Lalanne and prefer it to the others. It's much less mess, easier to clean and a well thought out design. They also have a lifetime warranty. I broke a small part, they replaced it immediately and customer service was very friendly. They even asked if any other parts needed replaced.

I didn't want to mention the "jack the lad" juicers, yes we can see the adverts on our shopping channels in the UK, do you get a lot of waste, can you make a glass of juice without spending hours cleaning up, or do you make a reasonable amount in a session

You can use the 'left over' pulp to put into breads, soups, and such to fortify them with fiber and flavor. I suppose one would just have to be careful about what's in the pulp. fwiw

P. S. Even my cheap juicer doesn't take hours to clean up. It's more of an annoyance than anything. Most juicers will make lots of juice quickly.

Champion

the Champion juicer is a good juicer - it takes pulp out, which is either good or bad depending on what you want to do, and it's easy to clean fast. It's durable and should last for decades. I have a grain grinder attachment for mine and that works pretty well too.

One reason for mine is to make juicing elderberries faster than cranking a Squeezo, which takes a long time when doing many gallons of berries, and not having a sound surface to clamp to. The champion should work well for that I'm thinking/hoping.

For just juicing up vegatables, it works very well. I bought one for my exwife in 1995 and she used it often for over a decade and it held up well.

There is a regular version and a commercial version for a bit more (more power) and the commercial version is recommended for use with a grinder attachment.

My first 2 where Champions (I couldn't remember the name.) Both were the industrial strength ones. I hated them. They were messy and hard to clean. I very much prefer Jack's and actually use it. The fiber container is designed so you can throw a plastic bag in it to catch pulp so all you have to do is take the bag out and pitch it. It only takes me a couple minutes to clean. I also think it produces more juice than the champions did. I can highly recommend it.

We juice nearly everday. Have tried several juicers and ended up liking the Juiceman, Professional series211, and it doesn't take up alot of room. We liked it the best of the ones we tried and it is quite easy to clean.

I have a Champion and love it ; We juice everyday due to my husband who can swallow juice and nothing harder then cooked Oartmeal.
Cleanup is easy and is nothing more then rinsing the parts of, would not have a different one.

I have a Champion, I love it because it is easy to clean...and it is great to drink fresh made juices from vegetables and fruits.

We have had the Juiceman juicer for at least 10 years. Still works like a champ but we admittedly use it in spurts and not every day.

I have the Breville juicer and would recommend it because of the wide mouth can fit a whole apple in it and has different settings for what you are juicing, whether it's a soft pear or hard carrot. Best price I found was on Amazon. I juice everyday, whether it's carrot/celery, other veggies, or a mix of strawberry, pear, apple, oranges. The cleaning time is really nothing. While your slowly sipping your juice (which you're supposed to do), clean the machine. Well worth the money and you will be suprised at how much healthier you will be.
