After losing tons of freeze dried foods in plastic containers and vacuum sealed mylar bags last winter with field mice I'm moving everything to glass. Food and time spent preserving it is just to precious to lose to any unexpected pest infestation.

You could also store it in an upright freezer that's not plugged in.

I use glass and tins in the pantry. Large popcorn tins and steel 5 gallon buckets for things that need more space.

Ran into that mouse problem a few years back.
