Good info for warm climates. In the north one would want more root veggies to replace sweet potatoes. in Alaska, I grow rutabaga for this purpose, rounding them out with parsnips and turnips. Since I can't grow beans -too cold- soup peas are substituted, fresh and dried. Garlic is extremely nutrient dense and medicinal besides, easy to grow in the north. Potatoes, essential. Herbs can be in pots on the deck. Kale, definitely. We can't grow corn or squash outside, but we can grow onions, cabbage, and carrots. Fish and game are staples.
One take away from this video is that food boredom can become a problem fast. This guy loves potatoes, but he is just starting to eat them months after his month long trial 'cause he got so sick of them.
Another take away; oil and salt are needed for cooking a lot of things. Store plenty!
