I'm posting this one because something just doesn't "ring right" regarding the perp's behavior and to point out and give a "High 5!" to the "Good Sams" who went to assist the wounded officer. I've used this station a lot over the years and ate across from it before my "Big East Bay Adventure" some may recall me posting about.....(My family and I have also been fortunate to have benefited from the skill of the staff of Eden Hospital's ER more often than I want to think about...)

HAYWARD -- A BART police officer was shot in the arm Friday morning when a man lurking near the Hayward BART parking garage suddenly took off and fired a shot at a pair of approaching officers.
The second officer fired back, wounding the fleeing man in a heart-pounding shootout that pierced the quiet of Christmas morning.
Mauricio Palma, 15, had just opened a new drone for Christmas and was about to leave with his father to get batteries when they heard three gunshots nearby about 11:15 a.m. When they ran outside, they happened upon the dramatic scene: Two officers struggling to handcuff a man in Grand Street, a block west of the BART station.
"Quiet!" the officer yelled at the suspect in a video the boy shot. "You just stop right now!"
After the stuggle, Palma watched as one of the officers sat down, bleeding from his upper arm. When the officer took off his jacket, the boy said, "there was a lot of blood. He was kind of woozy."
"I went over to help him,'' Palma said. "I told him to put his hand on it and put pressure on it."
He said he helped the officer to his feet before a police car raced up to take the wounded officer to the hospital.
In Palma's video, the other officer stood over the suspect, who was lying in the street with a handgun a few feet away. The boy said he was so close that he able to see the suspect had at least two or three bullet wounds -- on his hip and on his side.
By mid-afternoon, official details of the shooting were still sketchy: BART police say the two officers tried to stop a suspicious man about 11:15 a.m. at the Hayward station parking garage, when the man took off and turned and shot at the officers as they chased after him.
One of the officers was struck in the arm, BART spokeswoman Denisse Gonzalez said. The other officer fired back, wounding the fleeing man.
Both the injured officer and the suspect were taken to Eden Hospital. The officer is expected to survive, Gonzales said, but the suspect's condition wasn't available. Neither have been identified.
The shooting happened a block from Hayward's downtown BART station, which remained open on what otherwise was a quiet holiday morning with traffic picking up later in the afternoon for the Warriors game.
For Mauricio Palma and his father, the drama was an unexpected chance to help an officer in need.
"Police officers are citizens too and if you see a citizen in need of help you stand up and you help him,'' the younger Palma said. "What if he'd been shot in the chest and no one helped him and he died?"
