OK - this is probably a dumb question, but I don't know the answer. We have an oil furnace in the basement. It requires both oil & electricity to run. Assuming we have both, it's fine.
The chimney for the furnace comes up through the house and out the roof. We have a two story house. Is it possible to tap into that chimney for a wood burning stove on the first floor? Can two different things use the same chimney??
We can put a pellet stove on an outside wall on the first floor, but then you're limited by electricity and pellets. We have lots of wood.
