Farm Canna lilies

Gee, I'm starting to feel like a pest, but I always have so many questions and I am horrible at doing internet searches.

I grew canna lilies for the first time this year. They got huge and had lot of flowers.

I already know that the tubers are edible and that the leaves can be used to wrap tamales, but I just now found out that those spent flower pods have seeds in them. Hard black seeds maybe a quarter inch in diameter. I'm wondering if there is a use for these seeds, or if they will grow more plants?

And if I plant them, should I file a little line in each seed? They are VERY hard.

If anyone knows, thanks,

Carol

I just found out that the canna seeds will grow more plants but there will be no flowers on the plants the first year.

I'm going to go out and gather up all the seeds that are out there, cuz it's going to freeze tonight.

Maybe cannas could be a good stealth gardening crop.
