CHECK THE DATE – Republican Mike Gallagher Quits Congress, Dropping GOP Majority to One Seat

March 22, 2024 | Sundance | 66 Comments

Following Ken Buck (U-CO), Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher (U-WI) announces he is leaving congress.

This exit drops the GOP majority in the House to one seat, following a path that seemingly continues to put the Democrats in control prior to the 2024 election. This should be the GOPe insurance policy against President Trump’s successful election outcome.

There are trillions at stake.

Gallagher’s exit date is as subtle as a brick through a window:

December 2023 – (Via Politico) – […] during a flight from Canada to D.C. on Tuesday morning: former Speaker PAUL RYAN attempting to persuade Rep. MIKE GALLAGHER (R-Wis.) via text message to endorse Haley’s presidential bid. (more)

This is what we are up against.

I digress….

Pity. It was a great Country while it lasted.

There will be at least two more turncoats quit maybe three more.

That will give the dems control of the house and the speakership just in time to pass all kinds of terrible sh*t bills before November.

The next eight months is going to get real spicy and nasty. The war against this country will be on steroids.

How many times will people let the RINOs stab this country in the heart before they stop voting the rat bast*rds into office?

My fear is that it’s too late to make any effective changes through all but the last “box”. We’ve burned through the first two.

If the Communist regain control of the house and pass a resolution declaring Trump an insurrectionist, is that sufficient to get him removed from the ballot in November and give the Supreme Court cover?

Very few voted them in. They were INSTALLED by our COMMUNIST regime.

It would appear YES. But not by congressional declaration. Further discussion at

  • Geoff Bennett:

How did the court deal with a specific question of whether Donald Trump is an insurrectionist?
  • William Brangham:

They didn't. They didn't bring it up in the hearing last month. They didn't bring it up in this ruling.
There was some disagreement in the ruling today as to who gets to make that decision and when they make the decision. The four female justices — it was interesting how it split on gender lines here — all four female justices said that the ruling that states shouldn't be able to make this decision should have stood.
But Kagan, Sotomayor and Justice Jackson all took issue with the further breadth of this ruling, which they argue made it much harder to actually enforce Section 3, saying that Congress has to write a particular statute in order to enforce a part of the Constitution. It's very unusual.
These three justices wrote that the other justices crafted this ruling to insulate themselves and Donald Trump. I'm going to read a little bit of what they said.
They wrote — quote — "The majority announces novel rules for how that enforcement must operate. It reaches out to decide Section 3 questions not before us and to foreclose future efforts to disqualify a presidential candidate under that provision. In a sensitive case crying out for judicial restraint, it abandons that course."
They are clearly not happy with this, something to remember when we see all these headlines that this was a unanimous ruling.

As it stands and despite a Constitutional Bar, there is currently no "legal" bar to the presidency for someone who "insurrects." Or even someone convicted of insurrection by a court. But Congress COULD pass a law. Congress passes laws and courts enforce them. And we're talking Washington DC courts here.

But then there is also the legal appeal to an "ex-post-facto" law. Which would certainly be brought to the SCOTUS post haste.

You catch the drift? This is going to get "spicy." And the MEEDIA will do everything in their power to incite the population (i.e. the Marxist faction) against the "Bad Man" and thus put pressure on the SCOTUS - as they have already.

It could come down to SCOTUS effectively decides who the President will be.

Two observations:

1. Few people get into Congress without some "control file" cobbled together for them. Most probably have one before they are even elected. Like former congressman Ron Paul, a few may clean and have nothing to use. But most people have SOMETHING in their background, even if "They" have to go back to high school years to find it. Many of them are "political animals" who have made many back-room deals as they went up the political ladder (again, not all, but many). So it is pretty easy for "someone" to make them "An offer they can not refuse).

2. Even if the system did creek onward, Trump somehow won the election. I can't think of a much greater nightmare for Trump to face and all Democratic Congress with majorities in both houses. He could either end up like the First President Johnson after the US Civil War and be ignored (if there was a 2/3rd majority in both houses, unlikely but possible), or he will end up having to decide to either rule by executive order (which I suspect he doesn't want to do, or nothing will get done for the entire four years he is in office).

I think it is more likely that the Democrats are trying to get even a small majority in Congress, either to decide the election if it goes to the House or to stifle Trump's ability to get much of anything done and them call him "The Do Nothing President" or something like that.

This is not an easy time at all.
