LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville emergency crews made a daring rescue of a semi driver after her truck went over the edge of Clark Memorial Bridge on Friday, leaving the semi dangling high above the Ohio River.
According to
WDRB, Louisville Metro Police confirmed a collision between a semi, a pickup and two passenger vehicles caused the semi-truck to crash through the barrier and nearly fall off the bridge.
WDRB
captured dramatic footage that showed the truck cabin hanging out over the edge as rescue crews rappelled down to rescue the driver, the pair dangling high above the river.

The woman stuck in the driver’s cab was “extremely lucky” the truck didn’t plummet into the river, said Louisville Fire Chief Brian O’Neill.
The woman’s rescuer, Bryce Carden, said the driver was “super calm” despite her precarious position.
“She was just praying. She was praying a lot. And I prayed with her. So it was good,” Carden told WDRB.
Two others involved in the crash on the bridge were sent to the hospital with injuries authorities called “serious” and “life threatening.”
The bridge remains closed following the rescue and likely won’t open before Saturday morning.
