Problems with my Glow plug relay. Can GPR's go bad in two weeks?

I've been using my multitool to jumper over the main terminals to heat the glow plugs. Then it starts. Gets the tips of the tool HOT!

Have tried putting brass washers to help increase contact space. No help.

Anyone know where to get a F-250 2003 manual on CD?

I don't own a diesel but am always looking and the best site with info for both asking questions or running some searches is thedieselstop.com

That site covers fords old and new.

Glow plug relays should not burn out in 2 weeks ,if you just replaced it and it is defective I would return it for another one. When I was servicing a fleet of ambulances (12) I only replaced 2 relays in 3 years.

i own a 92 F250 diesel 7.3. i bought it used with 48,000 mi on it, and have spent a TON of money keeping this baby going.

just replaced the fuel injector pump (with a rebuilt) which cost about $750. apparently they all have problems with the original pumps, and when they're rebuilt they use some ceramic parts that dont fail like mine.

before that it was $750 to replace the oil pan, which had rusted thru in a few spots. i could go on .. and on ..

anyway .. once the inj pump was replaced it started easier and runs better than ever. just hoping theres no more problems for a while. i hope that this aint your problem.
