Facebook claims 'Jesus' is 'hate speech'

'The entire ordeal was surreal and, frankly, disturbing'

A columnist has reported at the Washington Times that Facebook called "Jesus" hate speech and said it was censoring the reference.

The stunning report comes from Billy Hallowell, an interviewer for Faithwire and CBN News and a co-host of "Quick Start Podcast."

He writes at the Times that he was taken aback recently when Facebook sent him a notice that, "Your post goes against our Community Standards on hate speech."

He doubled-checked the social media giant's wild claim and found it was referring to his explanation of the Christian message of salvation documented by the story of the Resurrection.

What he said his offending post was, "Jesus died so you could live."

"It was a message I recalled posting early last month in an effort to summarize the central message of the Gospel: Jesus’ sacrificial death for mankind and his ushering in of hope and salvation. The message is essentially New Testament 101," he wrote.

"Though some might disagree with the proclamation, there’s certainly nothing about the wording that any rational person would call 'hate speech,'" he said.

Then, he said, Facebook doubled down.

"Facebook proceeded to declare that its 'community standards' are meant to ensure everyone feels 'safe, respected and welcome,' though, in those moments of confusion over the hate speech flag, I didn’t feel any of those sentiments," he wrote. "An ominous line about future infractions was included in the warning. It read, 'If your content goes against our Community Standards again, your account may be restricted or disabled.'"

Ultimately, Facebook sent a follow-up that confirmed, "We have removed your post from Facebook" because the post was in violation.

Hallowell wrote, "The entire ordeal was surreal and, frankly, disturbing. I’m not at all interested in purporting to be a victim, but as an advocate of free speech and religious freedom, the idea that a message as innocuous as 'Jesus died so you could live' would be censored or banned is patently bizarre."

And he noted Facebook has refused to respond to further inquiries.

It might have been an error, he confirmed.

"Of course, if this wasn’t an error, there’s a much bigger problem brewing at Facebook. It’s worth noting that the original post from April 2 was still up and active even after the warning and claim of removal, adding even more questions into the mix."

So if you cut and paste segments of the Bible into Facebook, that is reason for a gig?

I wonder how much longer "Bible Version" outlines have in Google Search? As it is now ANY Bible version you wish to see is "out there." But for how long?

I can't count the number of versions/translations of the Bible at BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages.

Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder? Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible. He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men. ...

While it is totally possible these days, something is fishy about this story. Facebook puts you in FB jail for a few days if you make a bad post. They dont terminate your account permanently unless you have had numerous infractions or have serious hate speech. And his FB account is up and running.

I have religious posts all over my FB and my FIL posts all day long as a pastor and has never had a problem. So it seems there is something more to the story here.

I think it is AI. I shared a funny thing from a garden group. They were commenting on it just fine and I shared it to my page and tagged my daughter who is the oldest. It was something like - Why does the oldest daughter think she is the family manager and I had a thing pop up and say my post could not be seen by anybody except me because it was hate speech. I was going to click on it and delete it and it said it was gone or something, but then later in the day I noticed people commenting on my post and the message that was sent about it being deleted was gone.

Has always been that way, for those who oppose it.

In Roman times if you didn't worship Cesear you were considered an unbeliever and you got cancelled in the Coliseum by a lion.

If being cancelled on Facebook causes you to put aside your faith, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Zuckerberg and his sycophants are treading a very fine line. Below them, the Bottomless Pit. Satan’s toady, Zuckerberg, will soon learn that money and earthly power are useless, when facing a jealous, angry God.

The greatest example of pure and perfect love that has ever been present on this earth and this idiot calls his name hate speech????

Shows just how far down the pooper shoot we are getting. The old hatred grows with each day.

But then again even during his time physically on this earth, the majority hated him because their hearts were hardened and they were full of their evil father.

As they hate and despised the Lord, they will hate we his followers. As they persecuted him, they will persecute us.

Do you feel like you're living in the first 300 years of AD (as opposed to BC)? If not, wait a while, you will.

That or in the birth pangs and they’ve gone from 15-20 minutes apart during the four years God gave us to get ready as he confused the world with trump.

To 3-5 minutes apart under this senile, evil ruler that God let the blinded and hardened hearts to place over us.

Keep your lamps full of oil and be ready for the bride groom no matter how long before he comes.

And the Jews who saw the mighty works of God when he took them out of egypt in just 40 days thought they were just fine making the golden calf and forgetting who is God.

Only God knows his sheep and they are his forevermore.

There are many who will cry out claiming to be his sheep but Matthew 7-23 is very plain.

That's not true for people like Soros. He doesn’t believe in God. Ironically, to be a Jew means that you are a person who is close to God, or definitely trying. These creatures -like Soros- just use the name as a shield to avoid criticism, etc.
Personally, I don’t know what these creatures are, but I believe someone that I hold in high esteem once called them a brood of vipers... :kaid:
That works for me…

Not yet. Bread and circuses are here in organized sports and political rioting. However, I don’t seen organized slaughter of innocents here, although that does happen overseas. No, the traitors in DC, and the spawn of Satan are colluding, and working toward our destruction. Pray Jesus comes soon…

Actually, Soros, born and raised Jewish, worked with his father to inform on, and steal from, the Jewish people of his birth nation. That is how he and his father made the beginnings of their fortunes. Now, Soros and his evil brood, sons and daughter, serve Soros’ spiritual father, Satan. They have no depth to which they will not stoop, to defy God…

There’s been over 60 million innocents murdered since this country’s SCOTUS somehow found the right to murder them in the constitution

IMHO the slaughter of believers will occur on what ever is left here after it is laid low during the tribulation periods.

The article doesn't say they terminated him or put him in jail, they simply removed the post and offered him that explanation. Still ridiculous. :/

Well that was sort of my point.

I don't think anyone sees Christians in the light of the first 300 years of persecution, getting upset over being banned from facebook is a joke, compared to that, BUT IMHO it's coming.

But I am also NOT saying any of the seals, or trumpets or bowls are being opened either. And while I don't think that needs to happen to have the same kind of persecution as there was in the first 300 years, I also don't think it is far off.

I saw his interview on 60 Minutes a long time ago. He was absolutely not repentant and seemed even proud. I think a lot of issues that we discuss here have that creature’s handiwork entwined in their construction.… :kaid:

You are correct. The slaughter of innocents, as in abortions, exceeds 50 Million in this country, the USA, by some counts. In China, over 400 Million. Around the world, add hundreds of millions more. We Have No Excuse! We are guilty, as in the US, as well as our allies and trading partners. Our nation, and others, deserve God’s Righteous Judgment and Wrath. Children, His Children- ALL Children, are as close to His heart as is possible. God- The Father, is a jealous and angry God. Woe to those that won’t listen to Him, or obey Him. Great will be their sorrow and tumult. In ancient times, “weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth” best describes those as they are destined to perish. Don’t be amongst them. Choose you this day, whom you will serve. Jesus, and life eternal, or Satan, and eternal torment.

It was not that long ago such political talk would get you killed by a religious group and they would get away with it. I'm not making that up.

Saved, to glorify God.
My daughter says you CANNOT SAY THE WORDS DEATH. DIE, DIED,, KILL, KILLED, SHOT, STABBED, CHOKED AND EVERY OTHER VIOLENT FORM OF DEATH SO I SUPPOSE RAPED, IMMOLATED, & DROWNED IS ALSO FORBIDDEN!
YOU CAN ONLY SAY "PASSED AWAY"
The facebook program keys on these words to censor.

I wonder if you can say "my husband passed away from a .45 slug in his head launched by a thief."

You can't say " my baby ( or mother, or son, or husband or DOG or fish ) died .

Most probably BUT my grandparents thought they were as well. They’ve been with the Lord for almost 45 years and thing got worse during their lives but nothing close to the evil loosed now.

The birth pangs as described by the Lord in
Shows it will get ever worse as the evil one rises and God continues to remove his protection and blessings on the evil kingdoms of the world.

Matthew 24 15-24 clearly shows the sign for the second 3 1/2 year great tribulation, but the start of the first 3 1/2 year tribulation is not so clear.

IMHO I’ve read and listen to many experts and their so contradictory on are or aren’t in tribulation I’m acting like we are but am not going to be troubled if we aren’t.

My Lord will come on the Fathers command and timing not what any other man thinks it should be.

We are to believe, testify and stand no matter what hits us up side the head.
