There must be a calculator out there somewhere that will tell me the pump price of gas at $150 barrel of oil. The current price of Brent crude(the standard now, no longer West Texas Intermediate)is $90. I've read that the increase is .03-.05 a gallon for every dollar increase. I'm calling that vague, and it varies from state to state.
The 3-4 west coast states have the highest taxes on gas and the highest prices, so I would expect the increase of .05 per gallon around here but less in the Midwest. But gas prices are going up, we just don't know how much yet.
Using an easy number of $7/gal. would be extremely inflationary, would cause an immediate recession, and Trump easily wins a second term. Remember Comrade Biden drained the SPR to its lowest level in 40 years to lower inflation, so that was a one trick pony and can't be done again.
The point is that we are close enough to the November election now that the voters will remember this and vote accordingly.
