Correction...That was Carnation Evap Milk. I always buy the cheap stuff so I'm not even sure where it came from lol. It was so good, I dug it out of the garbage to see exactly where I got it. I've got two cans from Aldi chilling now...will give an update on how it turns out.

Ice cream from a can...this one can come right out of your preps and is wonderful! All you need is one can of chilled evaporated milk, a splash of vanilla and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar...I used 1 1/4 and it was still a little sweet for me. I'll do a cup next time. Just mix the three ingredients and whip it like whipped cream. Put it in the freezer til it starts freezing around the edges and bring it out and whip some more. I did it three or four times. When mine was about 3/4 frozen, I transferred it to a metal loaf pan. The video didn't recommend this but it made it freeze just like store bought ice cream.

It was perfect. DH said it tasted like the Blue Bunny Vanilla Bean we use to love. I just used a store brand can of milk. I think it would be better to warm the milk just the slightest bit so regular sugar would melt and then chill it. I'm planning to try it with monk fruit and stevia too. You could probably get by with adding a little whole milk because it is very rich. I'll be trying all the things and adding to my evap. milk stash!

This guy is a nut and maybe a little irritating for some but he has a ton of good old fashioned recipes you never hear of any more...there is even a book.

Could you use sweetened condensed milk and just not add the sugar? Hmmmmm.
