Maintenance Ice for cleaning black water tank

So...

Does tossing a couple pounds of crushed or cube ice down the head and driving around help clean the black water holding tank or not?

What most of the RV Dealers do is just fill it with a garden hose and let it set a day or more and you can use a cup bleach at this time. Many of these RVs have a sensor and its hooked up with a panel that tells you just how much room is left in the tank and this sensor (Rod) will get gummed up over time so they make an attachment for garden hoses that will allow you to reach in and blast it clean and can also be use to clean the whole tank.

Add salt.

You must add water for it (ice) to float it. It helps break up the lumps and toilet paper jams from not filling your tank with enough water to begin with. I always add 5 gallons of water before each trip to stop the brown pyramid. Also go buy a flush king to bust a plugged tank and backflush. Be carefull you don't overfill the tank when backflushing.

Well,

Something between the ice and a couple clean water fill/drain cycles worked.

The indicator that had been stuck on 2/3rds is now reading empty again.

Thanks all!
