Ah, damn, that hurt.

Prayers for his family; I see he has two brothers and a daughter; they'll be in my prayers.

I haven't read all the post on here, but I can tell you a little something about trailers. We lived in a fifth wheel trailer for about 2 yrs. They are NICE pull better than a bumper hitch. BUT, if you have a short bed you won't be able to do much. You won't have enough turning radius because the front of the trailer will hit the back of the cab of your truck. You would need a 1 ton with beefed up springs to be able to put your fifth wheel hitch far enough back so as not to have that problem.

The second thing, if I were to live in one and travel around again I would go with a bumper pull, smaller and then put a cap on the back of the pick up to give more room for things like a generator, extra tools, lots of things you won't be able to or want to put in the camper. Just make sure you have enough UMPH! to pull the size trailer you will be buying.

We used a F250, 4 speed manual, to pull our 32' fifth wheel. It did OK but would have liked to have had more. Later we bought a 1 ton Dodge Cummins. Had no problem hauling what ever we hooked up to it. We delivered trailers for a living about 6 years.
