POL Impeachment Farce to end in Censure?

I said from the beginning of this impeachment Farce, or the ongoing coup d e'tat begun in 2016, against Trump that the most likely result would be either a Nixon like "resign," or some form of censure. I can be absolutely sure that all of the RINOS in the Senate, Romney, Collins et al will vote for a motion of censure. This would easily get the 45 Marxist Democrats, along with the two Marxist Independents, and all 20 RINOS in the US Senate, especially if they voted for a secret ballot to hide the RINO vote.

At any rate, anybody with an IQ over 9 understood from Day one there was ZERO chance to get the 67 Senate votes needed. Now a face saving, chest beating and thumping censure motion is a real possibility.

t this point, Democrats appear to have dug themselves a rather deep impeachment hole, and at least a few of them are now looking for a ladder. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) saw this coming but could not withstand the Trump-derangement tide. They do have a way out, and at least a few of them – along with their surrogates in the media – realize that censure, rather than impeachment, is their best option for dealing with President Trump in a way that will not come back to bite their carefully guarded posteriors.

Regardless of what one may think of Pelosi’s political bent, she has always been more pragmatic than her more strident party colleagues. Sure, she will step in front of any camera and talk about how Trump is spitting on the Constitution, crushing the souls of hard-working Americans, and planning to detain all non-white people before our very eyes. But, for the most part, she understands political realities.

With Republicans in control of the Senate, the California elder stateswoman always knew that articles of impeachment would have to be based on crimes so egregious and beyond doubt that even Republicans would have had no choice but to convict the president.

In their impeachment inquiry, congressional Democrats have come nowhere near that standard. Worse still, they may barely have the votes to advance articles of impeachment to the Senate. As the balance of power in the House now stands, the majority Democrats can afford to lose no more than 16 votes from their own caucus in order to impeach – assuming they get no Republican votes. The math may not be on the Democrats’ side, as they have 31 House members representing districts won by Trump in 2016.

it would allow the Marxist Democrats to look like they were doing something without actually doing anything. So, yes I think this kind of face saving bs is what will finally happen. You would never realize it from the Marxist Democrats antics in the so called "impeachment hearings," but you do require an actual crime that is subject to legal sanctions. OF which the Marxist Democrats have neither, and they are finally realizing that out here in deplorable land this illusion of a Trump crime is vanishing into the ether.

I would also say at this point, Pelosi et all are desperately looking for any hidey hole they can find, of which censure looks the best.

I like Kris G's summary analysis of the censure idea. AFAIK, it looks like the only way out for the Dems without going into a complete crash and burn cycle in the court of public opinion.

Of course, The Squad and folks like Nadler, Green and Schiff won't be happy...but ask me if I really care.

THe white hats have to follow up on these multiple attacks against the Presidency, for exactly what they were. The evidence is in hand, we've read the emails, the collusion, the intent...............it was a a coup attempt. It must be addressed and it should go right back to Obama and his handlers for that matter. Wish it would go to senate trial. DJT will not only be vindicated (minor point) but the establishment dems will be outed for their network of graft pillaging the $$$ we sent to Ukraine for support over the years since Crimea invasion (major point). There was another source that also theorized that the Dems would have to go the censure route as the only way out of the hole they've dug. The best part is, the most likely topic of a censure motion would also be a non-existent "crime", and one that is easily refuted. As a result, censure makes the Dems' position look even weaker, since the "crime" they would likely censure Trump for would be bad enough to impeach over if they actually had evidence, and their inability to do so makes censure look just that much more like the tantrum it really is.

In response to a House censure Trump could sign an executive proclamation censuring Pelosi, Schiff, and Biden. Although this is as meaningless as the House censure Trump could sell merchandise with "Censured Nervous Nancy", "Censured Shifty Schitt", "Censured Quid Pro Joe" etc. and raise more campaign dollars.

But that can't happen based on what they've got, which is nothing. So they either need to invent something--and invent it so good that the Deplorables will believe it--or forget it altogether. And since they've recently began frantically covering their collective asses by telling everybody who will listen about "deepfakes", they can't even fake video of Trump doing something bad.

If the Deplorables don't believe their invention, we'll likely rebel against it to some extent. Given our penchant for firearms, that's not a proposition they likely want to risk.

But what's left? Like Ocasio-Nunez said: if they don't impeach, their base melts. If they DO, they open up a political can of worms that can be seen from orbit.

We know the Sky Screamers want blood, but the current Dem crop is in NO position to give them blood. So, what, the Dem base walks into November 2020 fractured? That about guarantees a Trump win unless they import so many ringers that it becomes obvious they're cheating.

"Censure" as others have said, is nothing more than Congress, in this case, the House, saying we don't like you. Who didn't already know that? It doesn't handy cap the President in any form or fashion.

IMHO there will be nothing next since the elections are coming up next year. Focus should be concentrated on that. Defeating Trump. If Trump wins and I think he will, it will probably go full on TDS with no meds, and it might take to the streets. So after Nov. keep your head on a swivel.

That is something that is in the works, the IG Report which the MSM is saying will be a flop (consider the source), out …..Monday (?). And the Durham investigation. Just as a side note Richard, we don't see many Dem. perp walks, so the results while hopeful, are suspect, already.
