She got home. We sang happy birthday and gave her her gifts. She had one candle on her pie which she held in her hand and blew out (didn't want germs on the pie). And we got pie. It was heavenly. Now I am content....well, I would be if Kathy would submit more of her story. But I can wait. I am patient....not!

God woman you are so talented. This is such a different slant on the post apocalyptic world that I am finding it very interesting! I also like the aspect of the person telling the story and all of her life experiences. Wow just WOW. I apologize to all of those that were hoping for another chapter but I just had to comment!!!

Just a quick thought -- if asked, Gid would say that they are married, as would the rest of his family and the town, wouldn't they? That's why Gid's Aunt Verna scrutinized the sale paper so hard -- to make sure Yulee's legal status as Gid's wife couldn't be contested.
