I'm looking for cookie recipes that are for use with the old cookie presses. The kind where you choose a disc for the end of the tube(maybe a christmas tree ,heart, camel, flower etc...) I've always just made jello cookie dough for that but would like to try something different this year. If this post seems incoherent try to look over me-- not enuf     !!! The most common is the Spritz, my personal favorite.

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose sifted flour.

Cream together butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and flavoring. Blend in flour. Fill cookie press and shape cookies on chilled ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.

Okey-Dokey!!

Fruity Jello Cookies makes 5 doz. 400* 13-14 minutes

4c. plain flour
1tsp. baking powder
1&1/2 c. butter
1c. sugar
2pkgs. Jello(3ozs each)
1 egg
1tsp. Vanilla

In mixer bowl cream butter and sugar till light. Add egg and vanilla and cream well. Add --ONE-- pkg of the Jello to the dough and mix until blended well.
Combine flour and baking powder. Add to wet ingredients using lowest speed.
Scoop into cookie press and press onto cookie sheets. Take other pkg of Jello and sprinkle liberally onto cookie tops . Bake and enjoy!! I like strawberry, orange, lemon, berry. Some people like lime. Be sure to put plenty of jello on the tops it gives them their punch! Kathy PS--Use real Butter

Was wondering if you think you could add ascetic acid to the jello to give it an extra twang?! Thanks for the recipe. I had a friend who used to make a bundt cake with a similar recipe using two boxes of jello years ago. I don't know where it is, does anyone have it by chance. It's not my favorite but is a hit with the kids.
